Ok, so the rumor also said that Micheal Bay is calling the Ferrari "Dreadbox". But he does not know what Hasbro is calling him. If it is a lame name for the toy I'm just going to call him Rodimus, just like I'm calling the Einstein bot Wheeljack if it is some other lame name. But most of you might have other ideas huh?
It's widely assumed that the writer of that article had some writing errors. And PLEASE, for all things holy, keep Movie spoilers in the Movie section.
And I'm saying that Bay was referring to the vans as Dreads or whatever. The Ferrari's name is still uncertain. And I'm fairly sure Bay would know what a character in his movie is named.
Read this: Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It says: An Autobot who will debut as a Ferrari 458 Italia.[25] Bay said that Autobot to have an Italian accent, and also called him personally "Dreadbox".
You linked me to the Wikipedia article, which cites the article with bad grammar at the point in question. That proves absolutely nothing.
Don't EVER cite wikipedia as a source. And even so, does it still not occur to you that that the relevant section of the collider article was badly spliced together in order to eliminate spoilers? The Dreadbox name does not apply to the Ferrari in any capacity, it's obviously a misappropriated reference meant to apply to the previously announced Dreads. And where's the poll option for "I'm calling him whatever is printed on the card/called in the movie"?
Although nothing would make me happier than for all the Ferrari info in the article to be erroneous-how have you determined that there is a problem with the article? I agree the writing is odd/sloppy, but without further info I need a bit more than that to determine I shouldn't believe statements made in the interview. Having said that, if the Ferrari does end up being a real decepticon (and not a wheelie/jetfire in name only type con)- I'm very curious to see exactly what plot elements will explain why he spends so much time driving around in a caravan with the autobots.
Awkward phrasing that sounds like a chunk was taken out. Off grammar that suggests something was changed without changing other things to fit the alterations. A reference to something with a name that sounds near-identical to something we already know about. In the words of Sherlock Holmes, "That was a more daring shot, though I have no doubt that I was right"
A red ferrari would make sense as an alt mode for rodimus thats my thinking on it. Does not mean it is Rodimus.
Hope you're right. I'd been very excited about this character (especially if he turned out to be hot rod). The moment I read he was a con I found my self caring much less.
I'll call him whatever the hell Hasbro calls him. That option's not in there... Before someone says it's the same as Bay, let me introduce you to Movie 2007 "Devastator" or as everyone else calls him, Brawl.
What Michael Bay calls a new vehicle/character on set doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's probably just an attempt to keep the list of new characters (well, aside from a certain someone) hush hush for the time being. I wouldn't worry about it until an official announcement of new character names and/or samples of the toy packaging are snuck out of factories.
Didn't he say in an interview recently that he has his own nicknames for most of the transformers that didn't neccessarily match up in any way with their actual names?
I personally think it is hot rod or a bot of similar personality going by the type of car, the reason I close of Cliffjumper is I could have sworn I read somewhere on here and maybe another site bout a week or two ago that one of the cars seen on site was red variation of the camaro that is used for Bumblebee which sounds like Cliffjumper too me afterall is he not more or less usually depicted visually as a double to Bumblebee but red slightly altered head and different attitude?
Dreadbox.....as in Dreadnoughts......as in "The Dreads"......as in those Decepticon armored trucks...... Whoever put that on Wikipedia probably got his info from that article where the writer mixed up like half the info. Such as Bay saying the Ferrari will be a decepticon.
Bay uses false names during filming!!!! Bay uses different names than the actual names to hide identify and spoilers! He's done it in the previous films....he's also done it on the set of DOTM.
