Ok as you may know a few of us are trying to set up a new CON for the uk. Things are looking very good so far and pieces are falling into place.

been looking for venues the brighton centre has offered a reasonable price.......

Question being.................. Who would travel to brighton for the event?

    just leave a YES/NO/MAYBE or a suggestion.

    Brighton's a bit far.

For someone like me it would mean a flight to London and then a train to Brighton. Thast's far to much travel for my liking.

Putting it right on the south-coast isolates it from a vast number of fans, plus as a new convention you also don't have the buzz from previous years to help bolster the numbers.

Yea i'd do it for sure, BigPhill makes a good point. It's not just the travelling/location, it's the advertising that goes with it.

No luck with Milton Keynes then, I take it?
I'd travel to Brighton if necessary (and assuming I had the money at the time), but it's a bit of a stretch. I also agree with BigPhill's comments about Brighton being isolated; it might be a good idea to try and find a more central location for the first year.

I'd be down as a maybe, if the line-up was extremely good, but Brighton is a bit far to travel for me for something that isn't absolutely unmissable.

    If that makes any sense.

I would if I'm in the UK at the time. Depends when it's going to be on.

Depending on the location, I might. Depends how far away it is.

Also, Milton Keynes was thought about, rad, that'd be an easy yes for me.

Shame 'bout Milton Keynes, I'm only a few miles down the road, literally.

    Brighton? To be honest, no.

Brighton isn't too bad for me, plus it has the additional bonus of the seaside. It's a little bit pricey for a return ticket though since I'd have to go through London.

Milton Keynes or Uxbridge would be ideal for me, they're both easy for me to get to, although I'm not sure how accessible they'd be for everyone else.

Generally something central would be the best since it wouldn't be too far for most people to get to. Manchester would be a bit much for me, for example, since it is so far out of my way, although I've got some old university buddies I could crash with if you ended up out that way.

Personally, coming from the south of England, it would be a joy to go to a convention in Brighton. It would be a welcome change to travelling great distances to visit a con, especially for one day, so YES for me!

However, a more central location would be fairer to the majority of visitors and attract more dealers as they would get better sales from the increased fan base. Tough for some but much better for the overall community here in the UK.

how about nottingham, good fellows, since it seems to be the cenralest central you could procure.

if your looking for more help why not try asking and emailing the dealers for info etc, they take upwards of a few grand at the transformers conventions and are probably more annoyed than anyone there won't be a convention this year, especially with the movie and more fans being around, i'm sure they would love to get a convention off the ground
