What a coincidence that now that hybrid engines are a viable technology and it looks like within years there will be thousands of vehicles on the road that get great fuel economy that now fuel prices have skyrocketed. So, we will soon be driving vehicles that get 70 MPG, but it will cost three times as much to fill up so the oil companies will make the same amount of money. I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but I find that to be one amazing coincidence
If you're making a South Park reference, I quit watching it after Parker and Stone fired every other voice actor. I just can't take their limited voice acting skills.
that episode was still quite hilarious! All the hybrid owners caused an ego storm that threated all mankind.
Let's compile a list of gas prices in other parts of the world to look at this "high gas prices" with some perspective: Fremont, CA - $3.4x Canada Mexico Brazil China Singapore England Help me out here folks.
Average income for a Swede is about $32k per year; I make roughly $40k per year (prices are BEFORE the Swedish income tax at 30%..). I don't know what the average income for an American is though.
A far cry from reality... it's the european regulated prices that all are higher due to more fees and taxes that goes to a varity of things like health insurances, free hospitals and social financial security... that's just few factors of the total. In Denmark today 1litre = $1.99 or about $7.5 pr. gallon. Gas may be cheaper in Denmark than in Sweden, but cars in Sweden are a whole lot cheaper than in Denmark. A new car imported to the retailer to say like $10'000 is taxed with 180% so the final sales price is $18'000. And finally danish income tax is 45%. I know several americans visiting and getting shocked over our prices.
Hey guys I think we should all go out and buy new SUVs! Yaaaaaaay. My local place is selling "gas" for about $5.6x per gallon at the moment. That only seems reasonable to you guys thanks to the piss-weak greenback.
Yeah, same here. After wasting $10-20 a day for gas, turns out it's cheaper just to pay the $10 shipping fee and call it a day. I guess the only problem with that one is patience.
