Here is the thread that will follow my Computron project step by step.

Current progress: 4 technobots here. The pieces for his combination are all from a knock off Optimal Optimus. They will be connected by Bionicle pieces.

    Update 4/2/09

Here is Strafe connected to the arm and work in progress Afterburner

    Update 4/3/09
Another pic of the Wip Combined mode

    Update 4/4/09
Afterburner's bot mode and vehicle mode.

    Update 4/11/09
Have obtained epoxy adhesive for my custom, look forward to an actual pic of the combined mode by tomorrow or by Monday

    Update 4/13/09
The epoxy didn't work :(  It snapped, so i decided to pick up some Hobby cement instead. Also, due to the snapping, here is my new WIP Afterburner.

    Update 4/19/09
got me some Testor's enamel for my paint for him. Will post the combined progress pics tomorrow

    Update 4/20/09
Added current combined mode pic. May i remind you that strafe is not going to be like that, he will be different in final product. Working on legs, Nosecone and lightspeed, Afterburner's lower arm, and waist

    Update 4/21/09
Added pic of Strafe's final bot mode before paint applications

    Update 4/23/09
Added pic of Afterburner's final bot mode before paint applications

    Update 4/24/09
Added Current combined mode pic. Still need to figure out how to make the legs

Huh, that's a pretty different take on the standard combiners everyone is making. Looks pretty cool. Any idea what you're going to use for the motorcycle?

Holy bad paint, Batman. The awful paint application ruins it all.

I'd recommend masking and spray paint over glopping it on with a brush.

Actually, i'm going to take all that paint off, then apply the new paint job. In other words, Strafe and Afterburner aren't even done yet. plus, why do people have to rate my thread as terrible, when it's not even done yet? I mean come on, that feels like a dagger straight in my heart when i see that when people rate a WIP.

They are going to have all paint removed and repainted in a more timed out way.

Don't take it personally, man. They were just making observations. It does seem pointless to put all of the effort into engineering an awesome idea like this only to have it ruined by sloppy paint applications.

I think you have a great idea here! I like how you're using something other than Unicron or Primus pieces and that KO Optimus is a very affordable way to do i! I'm very interested to see how it looks when it's completed! :thumb

Well, are you going for a classic Computron color scheme, something totally new, or both?

G1 colors, but Strafe and Afterburner were from previous projects that got cancelled. So what you see isn't the final project

I like the progress so far. It's coming along nicely. The motorcycle (I always forget his name) is a combination of bionicle parts and...some tf that I don't recognize. Which one is it? (It's not really surprising I don't recognize it, I'm not too familiar with the modern tf names/molds.) Are you done with that motorcycle or still working on the transformation scheme?

Afterburner still needs legs, which will form the upper part of his alt mode. He's currently made from ani. prowl's body and head, random tf parts, his second wheel is from TFTM Arcee's upper arms, and bionicle pieces. The transformation is done, excluding the legs. oh yeah, thanks.
