    EDIT: Nov. 24, 2008

I got sick of having my cases crowding up my home office so I moved them into the basement. Now they are in line w/ each other and arranged in chronological order. I started w/ figures from '84 in the top left-hand corner and went down year by year, one year for each shelf, then across starting at the top.

In the small display case, I still have Brave Max and the mini-cons, but instead of having the hodge-podge of random figures that I like but don't have a better place to put, on the bottom 2 shelves, I now have my SWTFs.

FYI, I do have 3 plastic storage bins filled w/ rejected figures. I decided to thin out the herd a bit (I know it is hard to tell), and put the lesser figs into storage. I am in need of another case and will probably get one sometime this next spring.

    Anyway, w/o further ado:
    [IMG][IMG]

Case #1 (from the side b/c the chaise lounge is in the way): G1-'84 through Beast Machines
    [IMG][IMG]

Case #2: Robots in Disguise through Animated
    [IMG]

Case #3: Brave Max, Minicons and SWTFs
    [IMG]

Let me know what you think of hte new set-up.

Now that's what I'm talking about. I always prefer these kind of display setups than just TFs on some random shelves. This looks neat, clean, and professional. Nice work!

Thank you. I really love the way they look. They really are much more mature and it makes it look more like a collection than just a bunch of toys.

I got them both from www.showcasedesigns.biz. They aren't cheap and I had to get them custom made, but they are cheaper than some alternatives. I think they were well worth the price and will keep me satisfied for quite some time.

Let me know if you are in KC some time and you can stop by to check them. The lighting really makes a difference and you can't truly appreciate it until you see it in person.

Keep checking back as I will post new pics as I get things put in there.

I admired your collection before but I am impressed now! Extremely professional, classy and slick! The majority of my collection is in storage but when I am able to display them I will definitely use your design as an inspiration. It truly changes perception. It looks sturdier and more secure than a regular shelf. Do you have to do a lot dusting? Do have any problems with falls or over stressing the shelves?

Those are pricey.. but I'm gonna save a link anyways.

Kinda sucks to have to pay for each shelf... but they are super nice.

I am about 2/3 of the way done moving everything. Once it is all set, I will take individual pictures of all the shelves so you can see what is actually in there.

I really love having all this extra room to display things. I don't have to cramp so much in there that it looks bad and that actually kinda nice, believe it or not. Now I can spread things out so you can actually see them.

No, it's just the camera. I can never really show how cool it looks since the camera washes everything out. The fluorescent lights just don't photograph well. You really do have to see it in person to appreciate it.

yeah I agree with the appeal of this sort of setup. The lights at the tops of the cases are nice. How much does one of those big ones set you back?

~ $800 shipped, but that will vary depending on where you live. I really think they are worth the price since they will last many years, are high quality and they really showcase (pun intended) my collection. Hell, they even cut down on the dusting immensely (I have to dust maybe once a year).

I have almost everything in, but I am tweaking the arrangement a bit. I will have detailed pics up sometime this week though.

by the inspiration of this thread I went out the other day and got a small curio cabinet with light as a new main display. It's no where near as large/nice as these ones but neither is my collection compared to yours. I'll post pics later tonight when I'm done assembling it.
