So I just got one of the few pieces I have been missing - C131 Raiden Giftset.

Since there arent a lot of these around, I thought I would share and give some info on each bot.

Ive tried to translate the names as best I can but my Japanese is a bit rusty. Also, names are "spelled" in phonetic katakana rather than kanji, the translations might be a bit off.

Here are a few more pics of the set. The only thing missing from the set are the 6 individual robot guns and the instruction pack.

Excellent acquisition. Raiden remains one of my grails due to my love of all Train bots. Heck, I even picked up the Solar Streak Megazord! How do you rate Raiden?

A very nice piece, thanks for sharing the photos!

Do you know what are those black clips(3 on a plastic tree/runner/sprue) in the styrofoam tray are for? I have a knockoff of Raiden and it included those clips in green... but never figured out their purpose.

I always thought Raiden was a better combiner than Devastator. Had the KO a while ago and the combination is pretty impressive.

Good luck. Getting this piece is by far one of the toughest and most expensive Transformers to find. But he is worth it, IMO.

Ha!... I should have figured that!... even as I was reading this thread I was thinking "hmm... the trains don't hook up in train mode like the micromasters or JRX... too bad"

Particularly with individual handguns and all of the clips. Individual robots aren't that great... but the transformation for Raiden is surprisingly intricate. The toy is quite 'fiddly' which may be one of the reasons Hasbro passed on it.
