Plane to be Filmed for Transformers?
    Source: bittercold May 19, 2006

With the cast in place for Michael Bay's Transformers (see full details here), scooper 'bittercold' alerts us to a location where the production is likely to film next week:

I am not going to tell you how I know this information because it is hush hush... but lets just say I am affiliated with the air force... here is what I know.

Next week on Wednesday and Thursday a C-130J model from Little Rock AFB Arkansas is heading for Holloman AFB New Mexico for shooting on Transformers the movie. They might be taking on the roll of a MC-130. I know they are going to do attack rolls and manuevers. I also know that after Holloman they are heading on to San Diego... so there may be more filming there.

The point of this... the film is geting USAF support and there will be C-130s in the movie.

Believe it or not... but filming is starting next week.

I might be nit-picking, but C-130s are propeller-engined and not jets, right? I'm just asking cause I have a picture of one in my head, and I want to make sure I'm thinking of the right plane

That will be a cool thing to see, maybe a couple Decepticons buzzing around one in mid air...

Am I the only one trying to picture a C-130 doing an attack roll and completely failing? A C-130 is a BIG ol' hoss. Ain't no way they're doing too many fancy sky-dances in one of them.

Interesting news though. I've always liked them monsters.

I saw the title and thought C-130 was referring to the Japanese G1 numbering.

Question is now, will the plane be one of the bots? Probably not I'm guessing, it seems too large-bellied to be a TF (outside of energon anyway).

Could be just a C-130... humans vs. Transformers and all. On the other hand, it would make an intriguing new concept for Soundwave.

Those things are loud as HELL when they fly overehead. A few years ago I lived in the woods in Jacksonville, which happened to be about 2 miles as the crow flies from one of the landing strips at the AFB.

This was right after 9/11 when they took off every 2 minutes on the clock for weeks straight.

If it ends up being a TF, I'm guessing Jetfire (much like the Cybertron version)...

Somebody clue me in. What's the MC-130 version? I'm familiar with the AC-130, but I've never heard of the MC-130.

An AC-130 would be good for a Strikefire. Of course, DON would get royalties for the name useage.

Thanks much. Sounds like it's just been modified to let it get deeper into enemy territory.

Not really. Those look like they're just flares used to confused guided missiles. AC-130 is the gunship.

Wasn't there a large bodied aircraft (bomber/passenger jet) transforming in the pre-vis clip?
It was quite primative, but had a unique transformation.
