Don't know if this is in the right place...

I was watching some of the auctions for the Botcon giveaways and got an email from eBay that the auctions have been pulled for TOS Violations.

    Blam. Bye bye bad auctions.

Yeah, this has come up several times already in various threads. The comments have always been about how FP is more thorough than Hasbro about getting auctions pulled. Kind of makes you wonder how difficult it really would be for Hasbro to do the same thing...

I also think FunPub has more to lose than Hasbro since their margins are much smaller than Hasbro's. It's probably more of a pain for Brian and his staff to constantly release the hounds out on eBay since they are a small company. Yet worth it in the end if he's got enough product to sell and stay profitable.

I don't envy small business owners at all.

    Ebay:
Yup. As of right now, they're all gone... Before, there were still a few sellers with them up.

Has anyone actually bought stuff from these types of sellers without issues? Seems that actually buying these would be a problem.

Either way, the auctions will probably be allowed to continue after Botcon.

After Botcon, it would be far more difficult to show that someone was selling a stolen item.

So what's the difference (aside from price) of buying one before or after? Obviously there is the issue of getting something that isn't supposed to be released yet... but it the same figure nonetheless, right?

well before you are buying an illegally stolen item, and after its harder to say since you don't know if its some loser thief in china or just some con goer who didn't want his toy anymore.
