The fuck? So Ichikawa is dumping the unrelated MP line into the BT Canon?

I still dream of an Ichikawa-penned-and-illustrated Binaltech miniseries from IDW. Yes, as Transfan wishes go, it's one of the least likely ones, but you can't tell me that it wouldn't be sweet as hell.

I dunno- with a beast series, Stormbringer, and Steamformers, there's always slight possibility. The biggest problem would be getting the licensees to agree to it, as I don't know if that's included with the toy licensing agreement or not.

As for the toy itself, I didn't know that it had such a different color scheme than Alt. Skids. I might have to put it on my 'watch' list.

It just furthers my belief that what we got as Alt Mirage was designed to be BT Hot Rod/Kiss Play Hot Loddy mass :D

I believe one of the Hasbro reps stated (at either OTFCC or Botcon a few years back) that the licensing agreements with the car companies only extended to 3-dimensional replications of the vehicles and not to 2-dimensional replications and thus they couldn't do a comic series on it or release any kind of OVA. Which are two things people were clamoring for at that point and I also believe that the same rep stated that it would have been cost prohibitive at that point to go back and redo the licensing agreements to incorporate that particular wording.

Hmm... a Hot Rod repaint/remoulding wouldn't be bad from Mirage... maybe...

Nahh, Alternators is on it's death knell... I dare not hope too much... :drunk

Who says Alternators is going out? I mean how many times have we heard that; unless it's official I don't see how it could even be considered truth, what about Alt Rumble? There's no way they'd go to the trouble of producing such a figure and then not release him; it would be cost prohibitive to the money makers at Hasbro.
Alternators is probably just slowing down in anticipation of the movie related merchandise and all that.

Err... if you don't mind my asking why? I guess I could understand if you consider Hot Shot to be Hot Rod, but I really never have. So the only Hot Rod goodness I've had recently was Energon Rodimus, the Hasbro reissue, the Takara Targetmaster reissue, the Takara Micromaster reissue and now the upcoming Classics Rodimus and Titanium Rodimus Prime...

Not being an ass or anything, just blantanlty curious as to your reasons.

You just listed six of my reasons why I'm tired of Hot Rod.

No wonder why I'm on a BW kick lately.
