Has any one noticed that the pic on BBTS.com of the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal looks very Similar to the Beast Machines Optimus Primal? Is it a remold? If anyone knows, please post a response.

    New mold, not remold.

It does look like an oversized BM Primal (first version). Specifically the feet. So yeah, I probably see what you see. :)

Way I see it, this is a sort of "pre-Earth" mode for Optimus Primal. I'm sure that may have been a reference to designing the robot mode. Seems very similar to how he looked in the opening scenes of the pilot.

Just for the record, Hasbro has stated that they are "very similar" to the BW figures to be released as special, new mold releases for the BW 10th Anniversary. HOWEVER, they have made "just enough" differences that they could be re-released in a different line in the future as new characters.

which to me kind of defeats the purpose of the whole 10th anniversary reissue of them, since they are not.

Uhm since when did anyone say Megs and Primal were straight up reissues? All I remember is Hasbro stating they'd be new molds. I can't wait for the new molds to be released, Primal's monkey mode doesn;t look too great but his robot mode and both of Megs' modes look spectacular with all the detailing

Actually it doesn't defeat the purpose.

As far as I was aware the designs were based on BW Primal and Megatron, but still have some differences to then, for inclusion into the 10th anniversary line, however if that line wasn't sucsesful then they could be switched and placed in the current Cybertron line. Hence there inclusion of Cyber Keys.

I seem to remember Aaron Archer saying at Botcon that they took design cues from each Primal for this design.

That makes sence...I see a lot of BW and BM Primal in there, plus the surfboard is blatantly TM Optimus...still excited.

I still don't understand what problem people have with these. They're the best versions of Primal and Megs yet. Primal wins simply because his transformation consists of more than just an ape head covering his robot head. I do see the BM similarity though.

I can't wait to see the bitching when the Classics come out and they aren't 100% acurate to the originals. People don't seem to get the concepts of "redesign" and "update" anymore.

BWX Primal looks like he finally is rid of any annoying "monkey action" like the chest beating, blast punching or "look at MAH SOUL!" like other Primals. Two snaps up.

He's got a flying surfboard gun! That's way better than super monkey action!

In my mind, these guys are just unused "beast wars season 4" figures.

Nemesis takes off into space, maximals follow in the shuttle. Primal and Megatron get caught in another 'time storm' like at the end of season 2, and the alterations to history combined with the held spark of g1 Megatron end up reverting them to smaller forms resembling who they were before season 1...
when the maximals finally tow the Nemesis back to Earth and get Primal back the damage to history is already done... thus Neo- G1.

I kinda see it that way as well. The toy styling sorta looks like what Beast Machines Optimus and Megatron might've been like if they didn't take such a radical departure from the BW robot forms.

I'm still digging on Megatron, and Primal's much more a wait and see IMO.
