I really can't wait for this series. The wait for all these years to finally get Beast Wars comics has payed off.

I really hope this won't be as flat out boring as "The Gathering", but I fear otherwise.

Maybe something actually happens this time.

    Shokaract? Talk about obscure!

And I still think both Lio Convoy and Leo Prime are stupid names. Lio Convoy has the advantage of the only name appearing in any fiction, but it doesn't really make sense in the context of American TF and the beast era. However, Leo Prime seems like a half-ass way to appeal to people's familiarity of the 'Prime' brand names.

I would have preferred something like 'Lio/Leo Primal'.

I'm not into comics at all but for some reason I went apeshit over The Gathering. I was so happy to see all the Beast Wars characters from the toy line that never made it into the tv show. I was and still am really pissed off that Cybershark wasn't in the tv show.:mad  Anyway, I can't wait for The Ascending.

Current popular theory is that Dromaeosaurids were feathered.

There's a theory that dinosaurs had feathers. I'm guessing that's what Don's going with here.

The comic is $3.99 like all IDW comics, not $2.99, Deefuzz (regarding the front page link to this thread).

The raptors, at least. Then again, I don't think Utah Raptors/Deinonychus had that large amount feathers, considering their size. And hís dino mode is to bulky to be a velociraptor.

One of the interesting things I see from the Predacon cover is that, apparently, the victims of the Mutant sneak attack aren't necessarily gone for good. I'm all for character deaths where important or poignant, but that was just a gratuitous waste to show off the Mutants (and prevent the Preds from retaining an advantage of numbers).

Oh, and very, very nice inclusion of Scarem on the cover. :)
