If hitting the add to cart button doesn't work, you just have to refresh your browser and hit the button a few times. Something is up with their site code and whatever common browsers we use.

If Taobao is blocking an item from being sold to overseas buyers (like it does with those with "fanstoys" or "maketoys" in the item title), you'll get a message when you try to pay for it.

Oh great. I'm liking the price for Gigapower Grassor after being scammed on eBay. I think I've done with eBay if I can master Taobao. Thanks again Connseanery for the pointers

Here are some stores who have some English speaking support. It probably makes life easier if you have questions or need support.

Wait wait wait. 小蜜蜂小王子玩具特区 has English speaking support?????? The hell!!

I've been buying from them for almost a year now and I had no idea. Gawdammit would have been so much easier than typing in mandarin!

I think it depends on whose is around. They have varying degrees of fluency. It helps though even if you need to wait for the person at the store that can understand English.

I've been looking to buy something on taobao, but do they even ship to Europe? On that consolidated shipping page it doesn't list Europe.

The taobao partner warehouses don't ship to europe. You'll have to use a forwarding agent like superbuy.com Unfortunately their shipping rates aren't as cheap as the taobao partner warehouses.

Ok guys. Hoping to get some help here. Normally when I buy something the shipping shows my warehouse as shown in this pic...[IMG]

but lately when I see shipping it has changed to this window pictured below...

How do I fix this and get it back to shipping to the warehouse?

I may not be the best informed to advise as I've only completed one order. The guide I read advised me to select "overseas" and progress from there. The warehouse defaults to your location I think, based on your address which you select later on.

You'll usually see that if the site cookies don't have your profile info (default shipping address). Have you tried logging in?

Does it happen for all sellers? Or only some?

Just gotta say I'm impressed with my first Taobao experience. From click to delivery it took 8 days. Ordered Wed night, arrived in Australia the following Tuesday morning and sat in customs till this Friday morning. I got called at almost 5pm and was hand delivered the item by the courier. I swear if it wasn't for customs it could've been 7 days! Admitedly it was small, Takara wheeljack KO. But hey, eBay would take 2+ weeks.

Billiam, as per your query I only selected 'overseas' on this order. When I make another purchase I'll see what options I get but when browsing Gigapower items earlier, again I only get the 'overseas' option.

No more eBay for me. I'm hooked.

    Try picking overseas for now.

If you can add it to the cart (u may need to refresh and hit the button a few times), u should be taken to a settlement/payment screen where you select the consolidated shipping.

A lot of folks are reluctant to try it out but they are closing themselves off to a lot of purchasing options/inventory. Taobao has more built in protections for the buyer thru the process than eBay.

The learning curve is just setting up the profile and learning to navigate the site.
