Can somebody tell me some good places to pick up masterpiece tf's in singapore - as my parents are going through there next year on holiday and I want to try and get MP megatron. I think they will be staying just off of Orchard street (supposed to be the main area for electronics?) So the closer to there the better. Thanks a lot

From the UltramanLah! Forums. These are some major, popular toy shops over in Singapore, but these places may be better suited for imports in general than TFs, I'm not sure. I'm sure people that actually live there will know better.

Yeah, Chosen summed it up very well. For a hardcore collector like me, I would rarely go to Orchard Road to get my TFs. While Orchard Road is indeed a shopper's paradise, its mainly geared to mass retail like Cyberton, Star Wars.

There are only 3 specialised toy shops in Orchard Road.

    1. "The Falcon's Hanger" in a shopping mall called Far East Plaza

This shop is very reliable in terms of reservations and rewards customer loyalty. The problem is the shop doesn't carry much stock.

    2. Another in Lucky Plaza - 2nd or 3rd floor. I can't remember the name iss something like "movie collectibles"

The shop has er, cut-throat prices.

    3. The last shop is located at a place call Havelock Place - second storey and is another shop operated by "Uncle Ng".

Another shop I patronize quite often to satisfy my Gundam Fix and Zeonography addict! LOL!

The pictures of the shops that the Chosen posted are not located in a specific region but all over Singapore. Thankfully, is Singapore a small island so a collector like me can easily move around.

A good point that Chosen raise is that most of the toys are imported and good deals are dependent on various factors such as pre-orders, shops undercutting each other etc. Currently, some shops are offering a pre-order price of US$60-70 for MP Megatron. I believe if Megs is not sold out by the time R.Prime's parents go to Singapore, he should be at the most USD$80-90.

One good thing about the toys purchased in Singapore is that it will be exactly like the Japanese version. Example, no painted tip etc.

The number of toy shops in my country are small and cannot be compared to either Japan or Hong Kong and different shops tend to specialize in different products. The best toy shops (less than 5) are located in place between Chinatown and the business district known as China Square Centre.

I MAY be getting an extra Megatron and if your parents have difficulty in getting a piece, let me know and I can even drop by the hotel lobby to pass it to them. I can't confirm the price but it would be less than USD$100! If it is USD$100, I won't be getting an extra piece! LOL!

But of course, no promises as I may be travelling overseas for work or the inability to secure a second Megatron as he's a HOT item!

    Thanks for the helpful info.

Well, the cheapest to get it into the UK is about USD$140 so even 100 would be good!

If you are around at the time and have got hold of an extra I may take you up on this, my parents are on a round the world trip for the start of next year and only have a few days in Singapore in april but I guess I should be in email contact with them closer the time to update them.

    Thanks again.

Man...looking at all those pictures that Chosen posted is giving me at urge to visit them this weekend! LOL! :D

Hey, Ligerprime. I'm going to be in Singapore myself in mid February. I'm really looking forward to it now. I know you are saying that there are only a few specialised toy stores, but i live in Korea, where such a thing is almost non existent. As i type this my lovely girlfriend is perusing maps trying to find all the places you've mentioned.

Oh?! That's great! Why don't you drop me a PM when you're here and I can at least show you where the toy shops are but please don't expect a toy paradise as the toy shops are scattered all over the country.

Let me know what type of toys you are looking for at least I can provide you some directions - TFs? SOC?

I must forewarn you though...don't get your too high hopes as most of these toy stores hold low stock to maintain a high cash flow...so you may not find what you're looking for.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot...i can only be your toy tour guide only on Saturdays! Because work can be a killer in Singapore! LOL!

Neo-Bombshell, if I remember correctly you're an Ultraman fan yes? Below is a picture of an undated version of him! Looks cool huh?
