    Hey guys!
Just wanna hear from you collectors out there if you purchase more than 1 of the same exact figure just to get his weapons?
Such as getting 2 FE Prime Bumblebees or Optimus Primes so that they can be displayed dual-wielding.
    Is this to far-fetched?

    Thanks!!!

I buy 2 or 3 depending on the figure for Kitbashing parts. Example WFC Megatron is a great mold to use as a base for customs.

It depends on how much you want those accessories, I guess.

It's certainly not uncommon for people to buy multiple versions of the same figure, and then to give away/sell the duplicate parts they don't want anymore.

I'm thinking of doing this with PRID Arcee.

Bought X2 PCC 2-packs just for the Minicons. Gave the extra robot to the kids and kept the Minicon.

I sometimes buy multiples for customs and parts, hence my sales thread :lol

I haven't yet, but I might do so with PRIDE Arcee.
Thats assuming I can find even one, let alone two.

Mmm...if I buy two of any figure, its not for the weapons. Mostly just to display in both modes.

Just because a figure is shortpacked, doesn't mean it'll be hard to find. I bet before long, people will be complaining about too many Soundwaves.

Kind of a moot point for me thanks to the way distribution has worked for the last decade or so. I used to follow some Alternators customizers and wonder how the hell they got so many when finding just one in my area was always so difficult.

Same here, Arcee is the first figure I've wanted to buy multiples of just for her weapons. Her gun is just fantastic and looks like it fell straight out of a G1 box. The blade isn't bad, either, but would look better with a mate.

I'm into toy karma though, so I wont be buying any extras of her until she becomes common.

    Depends on price.

I've bought Cyberverse Megs and Optimus multiple times to get all their accessories, though my Target was practically giving those guys away.
Conversely, I skipped on the blue Fallen because I already had the regular release and didn't think the removable face and staff was worth full price again.

I've never bought a duplicate of a figure solely for the accessories. I've been tempted, but I usually use the money towards a new toy for my collection.

Very rarely. The only time in recent memory is that I picked up an extra DotM Topspin, on clearance and with a coupon, to use his various guns for my Classics figures.

Yeah! I have one extra Animated Cheetor only to put chainsaws in both arms, like he did in a scene on The Stunti-Con Job comic.

It kinda bothers me that RiD Arcee only has one arm blade, compelling folks to get two of her. Ditto with Bee though the only way I'll ever buy the RiD mold willingly is if I get him for free (like with TRU's buy 2 get 1 free deluxe deal) or if I decide to get a whole case (which I'm thinking of doing for Wave 3 just to ensure I get Arcee, Ratchet, Knockout and Vehicon without dealing with the hassle of hunting any of them down).

But there's always Shapeways as an option for extra weapons and add-ons (just look for fakebusker83's Shapeways thread and store).

I buy two of each figure (if they have two to purchase) because I like to display them in robot and vehicle mode.

So it comes in handy for FE Bumblebee (two guns), and RID Arcee (two arm blades). I just see it as an extra bonus. :)  I did like how RID Bumblebee came with two guns already, which was cool for those who only wanted one of him.

I was able to purchase some of the DotM figures very cheaply. I'm going to use the guns from the Bumblebees for other figures, and I painted the Bees black to make a drone army. :)
