Serving your namesake well I see? That's what I like to hear. :)

For me though, my mailbox has pretty much been acting like a woman's purse too, but I'm shooting for a $100 per month limit once I get over my recent binge. This will ideally cover anything purely hobby related (transformers, games, yugioh cards, clothes I don't need, etc), and seems like a good number to aim for because it leaves roughly 10 bucks a week on Tranformers if one was to break it down that way. Another thing I'm gonna try & keep to is mainly (if not entirely) maintaining this allowance with overtime pay, as that way I'm not really eating into my budget where whatever's left over "should" be going into my savings.

Problem is I have money to spend and it's becoming endless. I keep saying ok no more and I find something else I like. Maybe I'll set that 100 or 50 limit each month as well.

Well I never limit what amount of money I spend. I am limiting the kinds of figures I am buying however, like I'm now aiming to buy 75% of the Cybertron line and some sprinkles of Transfomers Prime(both FE and mainline) figures and a little of Masterpiece figures for now. I'm prohibiting movie-verse and any unlisted lines for a while to achieve some goals I have in mind like buying Cybertron Galvatron. Also saving up for some other stuff or just in case something comes up and I happen to have the money for it.

I find myself returning figures I bought at retail to find older stuff online so I don't feel bad about spending too much lol

Well, at least he's not "limiting" himself to only what's available online through familiar channels hahahah.

What I meant by RID is the toyline from 2001, not the recent Prime: RID line. RID (2001) was originally a line I was aiming at buying a lot of figures from but plans have changed.

Every year the buying limit gets more strict. Due to the toys getting worse each passing year.

If I like a figure or not.

I've went as high as twenty figures in two months to two figures in ten months before.

    If I don't like it, I won't get it.

Set goals that are sort of microgoals. For me, it's Scramble City Combiners. After that is done, finish the Car Robots/RID Autobot Bros., then the rest of the RID molds, then maybe move onto Throttlebots or Micromasters, or Cyberjets or something like that. If you set smaller goals, it's easier to pace yourself. If not, then it's like a shotgun blast all over the checklist of the entire franchise.

My buying limit is practically in freefall. My pay's been frozen for 5 years, toys in general have practically doubled in price, and there's just so little produced anymore that even if the first two weren't true I'd still be spending less.

Yeah, I have no spending limit other than what I have available to spend to begin with. You know, after the important things (rent & utilities, car, food, girlfriend, etc.) I've easily spent a couple hundred in a month, and just as easily spent nothing another month.
