Ok I was just curious, and if this has been touched on already then forgive me.

I just wanted to hear about everyone's experience when it comes to buying directly from 3rd party sites. For example, I just bought the WST Ravage from Heerotoys.com yesterday, and I don't know if/when it will come in.

I just didn't get the same level of protection I would have got if I were to buy directly from eBay.

Anyway, let me hear your thoughts and opinions on the matter

I've bought from igear and fpc. I got all my figures so its all good. You just need to be weary when pre ordering from igear. You will get your stuff but they now have a bad track record with release dates and you have to prepay through igear.

Also be aware that iGear is very hit and miss when it comes to fixing QC (quality control) problems that may arise with their products. If you receive your stuff and it arrives broken or missing parts, you may not get a response at all from iGear despite numerous e-mails, attached photos of your QC issue, etc. Others have had their QC problems fixed, others were ignored, so it's kind of a crapshoot (the folks at iGear don't have the best English language skills either so communication may be an issue; photos/pictures speak louder than words). Filing a complaint via your credit card or PayPal (for items arriving not as described) will definitely get iGear's attention though, so there's always that option. Caveat emptor and all that. I have bought directly from iGear a few times with no issues but your mileage may vary.

I've bought from him on eBay a lot with no problems. I've also bought a couple of times from the website and have had no trouble either, I now have 5 WST Ravages I can put in my Soundwaves :)

I've bought the following directly from iGear,

    Faith Leader
    3 Coneheads
    3 Seekers
    Delicate Warrior
    Kup heads
Weapons set for Kup & Perceptor
    Rager & Spray
Weapons & Medical Specialist ( en route )

Everything arrived in around the standard time for packages from Asia to the UK and aside from a couple of minor ie fixable QC issues with my Seekers have had no problems other than a lack of replies to a series of e-mails I sent enquiring about a replacement part.

The recent lack of customer service is a concern but I think the delays have been blown out of all proportion by elements of the fandom with an overblown sense of entitlement or an anti 3rd party attitude.

If Ironhide & Ratchet turn up with major QC issues then I'll perhaps change my stance on that but for now I'm happy enough to continue ordering direct as it's the cheaper option for me.

The only thing I've bought directly was from igear and it was the kup heads. Had no problem. That being said, I prefer to order through BBTS for customer service.

I also got Blesser from FP, not sure if that counts. But no problem there either
