Wow, looking at these pics I just realized what looks off to me on this figure, and it's something that's never been an issue before, the car front chest. Thanks to 08 Bumblebee's chest design, the standard car front as chest just looks.....bad. Don't get me wrong, I still like Swerve, but now that Bumbles has shown that there is a better way to execute the chest design, the old way looks off to me, ah well.
Can someone be kind enough to get screenshots of the Autobot version of Swindle from "Transformers: The Game" (Ps3 or 360 Please). Even though he's green in the game, I'd like to compare his details to this new figure and see if it matches the Autobot type of Swindle from the Movie video game. Cool figure too. And this confirms for us that the Universe figures will still have "movie styling" to them.
Wow... I'm not big on the head mold itself, but other than that, that's a REALLY nice robot design. Solid, nice articulation, nice forms... looks sort of like a Pat Lee drawing come to life (though that may be faint praise). But seriously... do they really think this is going to provide an incentive to buy a car??? The only thing they're going to do here is create an inflated secondary market for these figures, not to mention those that "disappear" from Chevy dealerships (as those who know Chevy employees have already hinted will happen). I really hope that this mold resurfaces (maybe a different head sculpt?) in another line soon, because I really like it, but there's no way I'm going to shell out the insane Ebay prices that will soon be demanded by this thing... let alone shell out for a car! Classics 2.0 Overdrive maybe? Windcharger even? zmog
What would be really insane is if they had an exclusive figure for EACH of their car models! Collectors would be pulling teeth on something like that!
If this was an ALT, I'd probably would've be an owner of a Chevy car soon. I thank my lucky stars it isn't.
Happy with my oldsmobile, thanks. Guess I won't have a chance at this one... which is too bad. Oh well.
Interesting, but terrible headsculpt. Looks like a decent version of Movie Swindle. Hopefully we'll get a repaint of it with a different head at some point.
thank primus its a deluxe and not an alt.......... but that is one sweet looking deluxe......... no drone head = win
Sundenly I want my 1st car to be an Aveo.... Anybody who has an extra, I'll buy it off you. Just drop me a PM
I WISH the Movie Swindle toy looked that good. (I may have found the design base for my TF based on a '96 Chevy Cavalier ) I also agree we'll probably see this mold outside of a Chevy dealership eventually. It could work as a movie-style toy, but works as well, if not better, as an updated G1-style design too, so it could be an early example of a Classiverse toy. Perhaps Action Master Rad finally got his transforming toy.
Very nice, stupidly expensive, but nice. I'll pick one up in an auction. With 2,000 of them being made, it should be about as easy to find a typical Botcon exclusive online. That being said, I can see this being used later in a different color as a filler for the movie line or Classics 2.0. I'd personally like to see more real car deluxes made like this. Maybe Chevy or some of the other car makers will continue this trend. I really want a SSR Kup.
McDonald's happy meals eat your heart out, this has got to be the best freebie ever but it is just a freebie. I'm not gonna freak out that I can't get one.
My wife and I considered an Aveo a few years back, but got a second Focus instead. Many states have a 'lemon law' where you can return a car within a certain amount of time if you don't like it. Anyone wanna try it for a TF? -Tony!
