Hi guys,
Just thought I'd pass along that Toy R Us has video games buy 2, get 1 free this week. Looks like most everything is included.  

 

Thanks for the heads up. I just knocked out a lot of holiday shopping.  
Oh, and my Toys R Us appeared to be cancelling their stock of all game systems except the DS because they had almost no game cases for any of the systems out on the floor. I had to stand at the register and see what I wanted behind the cases.

 

My toys r us doesn't have any new console games

 

Snagged Orange Box and Skate for the 360 and scored MySims on the Wii for free.

I am debating hitting up another because I wanted Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PS3 and MLB Power Pros for the Wii, but didnt find them.

 

i'm guessing that it's all games.

and if that's the case, i think i'll pick up either Mysims, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Strikers Charged, or Victorious Boxer.

 

I'm trying to think of a 3rd game I really want. Plan on getting Orange Box, the new FFT game, and I can't think of a third. Is there anything big coming out this week?

 

i'm not a big fan of these but they seem to be popular:
- Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (PS2, PSP, PS3, 360, Wii, DS)
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Shivering Isles (360)
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition (PS3)
- Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (Wii)


and this one i really want to get:
- Victorious Boxer (Wii)

 

Stay away from Tony Hawk's, terrible game. Pick up Skate instead, definately alot better.

I didnt even realize that Victorious Boxer, Proving Ground, and Beautiful Katamari are due out this week too. I also wanted to pick up PGR4 and MLB Power Pros.

This week could get quite expensive.

 

I picked up 3 new 360 games last time they had this sale and I so want to take advantage of it again, but after having to pay $500+ for car repairs Friday I must resist the urge and pass. Then again, my wife did hint at a few games she wants so maybe I can splurge and pick them up for Christmas gifts...

 

Grabbed me Orange Box, Sega Rally, and PGR4. I used my receipt from my first copy of Orange Box to get a refund on the unopened one. Still not sure if I would like to keep PGR4 yet or not. My Trus didn't have a very large selection of games and I got the last OB, my friend called a few others and one told us some guy came in on Sunday and bought all 4 copies of OB they had.

Also, M rated games aren't displayed on the sales floor. You have to ask or hope you see them behind the counter.

Also also, theres a very debatable coupon roaming around online for Blockbuster video that scans and allows you to get any 5 used games/dvds for $25 total regardless of price.

 

Have you tired that BB coupon yet or know anyone that has? I was reading the posts in that thread and the guy who posted the coupon never scanned his receipt. I printed it out anyhow and figured I'd give it a try this afternoon. Worse they can say is they won't accept the coupon.

 

Edit: Worked for me at one store.
Coupon just scans and reduces the total to $25 plus tax

Edit 2: Looks like theres an email out telling stores to not accept the coupon, some people are still getting it through though.

No, but there are several people at cheap ass gamers that got it to work while a few others have been turned away. Somone did post a link to his receipt that showed it worked last night though. I might try it later depending on my amount of laziness today.

 

I've got the coupon printed out and ready to go. Figured I'd hit a few BB on the way to meet my wife for dinner after work.

I've been following the thread over @ CAG and it still sounds like some stores are honoring the coupon. Also sounds like corporate has sent out a e-mail to some stores saying not to honor it. Other stories say the coupon comes up as expired in the system. Won't know until I try my hand at it.

 

There's a Buy 1 get one half off thing goin on at Fred Meyers too

 

I'm a little pissed. I went to TRU. Saw Beautiful Kantamari (turned around in the case, but there) also see Crackdown and Gears Of War. I Really mainly want BK and Crackdown. GoW is just my third pic. Well I have to point the BK game out to the guy. Well they are all dummy cases and have it turned around because they are out of them. Why even put the dummy cases in there in the first place? You get a guy like me who knows what the back of the case looks like, thinks they have it in and then gets ready to buy and they are out. I'm a little peeved. Oh well I'll just got to Gamestop tomorrow and buy BK and a used copy of Crackdown.

 

Picked up Stuntman Ignition & Spider-Man: Friend or Foe for myself and Mario Party 8 (Wii) for my wife today @ TRU. Also picked up The Orange Box @ Target while I was there to buy the TF Movie DVD.

 

Don't bother with the coupon. Both of the stores here have a flyer up saying it's a hoax. Oh well.

 

They do it as a placeholder for the game. They have to fit the games in alphabetical order, so they put stuff like that in to hold the spot for when the game comes out. Usually the fake cases say that they aren't real on them in a big white box.
