    WIP Burnout Transformer (3ds Max)

Hello TFW. New comer here. I've been visiting this site for about a month now and noticed all the cool transformer art that was posted here, so I decided to post my WIP project as well. While I'm new to the site, I'm no new to making movie-like transformers. This is my 4th project. That's not saying much since the first was a complete mess...the second was a bit less of a mess and the third was kind of decent...I really hope that this one will be better.

As far as I know, name Burnout is an original idea, correct me if I'm wrong. It's strange that his head reminds me of G1 Ironhine...which I was really not going for. Strangely enough I was going for a young looking bot, but at the end he looks...older.

Alright enough of this nonsense...here are some pics and a video test.

Nice vid, and nice endo-skeleton, you going to add alt mode parts next?

Thank you and yes. But I still have to finish his feet. I'm kind of struggling with them, because no matter how I model them they look awkward in there. But I don't think it's a problem, since I've been creating and deleted Faces since Friday. I probably went through 2-3 faces a day before finally making the right one TODAY :D .

    Scratch that.

I managed to create a pair feet for the bot. Now all that's left is to add some pistons and some springs, before the FUN can begin. :D

Awsome :thumb  Really awsome indeed, love the vid, you did an excellent job on it. How the visor works is pretty cool and the facial expression peices are very neat. I am most intrested on how he looks finished with car pieces on him.

And the classic car is a nice touch, what kind of car is that? Better yet, does that mean he's an old Transformer or a young one with good taste in era of car. :D

Most excellent work, keep it up. :)

The car is actually something I had laying around for a while. It's my first, finished, car model. It's a Gaz 13 Chaika aka "Seagull". It's an old car from the Soviet Union. Back then only the government officials could get their hands on those cars. It wasn't even sold to the general public. I thought it would be slightly ironic for an average joe to model it :D

And thanks for all the supporting comments guys.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been busy lately...school work and stuff.

Anyways here's a small update. The new and improved gun model and its transformation.

And here's a video of the transformation and a stand up test.

Welcome to the boards and thanks for posting this. Your robot looks like it fits the movie asthetic very well and I'm looking forward to seeing how much you have to cut up the vehicle to accomodate the robot. Are you going for a lot of cuts like Prime or Ironhide or a simpler job like Hubcap?

I'm planning on having quite a few cuts, but I still want to preserve some of the outlines of the car. Going to have to find that sweet balance.

Getting real close to finishing it. The pieces are already cut up and placed now all I need is to texture it and give the skeleton a nice, smooth and spicy animation.

    Thoughts?

The shell looks great. It's easy to tell what kinda of car it is (well, at least what kind of era it's from). I think his head looks almost too big for his body now for some reason though. Could we get a normal standing position?

Head looks better in the standing shot, so I guess it was just the perspective that made it look bigger. It's a great looking model, do you plan on making any more?
