Wow. Just wow.
This is beyond a facepalm.
Butlins bans bumping on the bumper cars - Telegraph
Agree, when are the "No Fun Allowed" signs going up?
WTF? whats the point of dodging if no one is allowed to hit you? fail! Sad thing is i can see this coming to the US.
Another thing is, why pay to drive around in a circle. I do that almost every day to and from work.
Uh, wait a minute. Isn't the point of bumper cars is to bump into the other person? Hello? Is something missing here?
Well, I guess it's time for that rental car.
Apparently the point is to not get hit by people that are not allowed to hit you.
What the fuck?
No, it's to avoid bumping. At least the original intent was to dodge thus the name Dodgems.
Americans made them bumper cars cause we love muddin, racing, crashing in ta thangs and generally anythang for a right good hoot an a holla.
To dodge something, there first must be something that is trying to hit you.
Well, I guess I'm never going to Butlins, ever.
Despite seeing where this is coming from, I think it's overreacting. A simple disclaimer, something along the lines of "by participating in bumpercars you waive your right to sue for injuries sustained" would have been sufficient, no?
Or where I live, you can be dodging something that's too stupid to intelligently avoid you on their own.
... taking that into account, all we need to do is dumb down the world. That way, bumper cars can be fun again. *phones Mojo Jojo*
Actually it was invented in America.
Legend / History
This just in from the Department of Defeating the Purpose...
Bad driving was invented in America?
But really, whiplash and other injuries? Those cars speed is as a fast walk.
Wow.... Seriously? I mean, that's just stupid. Next thing we'll know: DON'T USE PAINT FOR PAINTBALL, IT'S HAZARDOUS TO YOUR SKIN.
Nope. I think what they did was right. I got bumped so hard once that I fell out of the car and another bumper car ran over me causing great injury and somehow a pole got loose and electrocuted me to death. I want to sue but , well you know, I'm dead.
