I know this was discussed earlier but I can't find the thread. Anyways I got myself a dlx Bumblebee finally since we just got them in at work. I just happened to get a defective one. The front end wont stay up in car mode. All the shit inside looks kinda banged up and everything. So how do I go about finding the good one again?

    There is no "defective" one.

Some people will tell you that there is no defective one, just ones that get transformed improperly.

Is there any way you could post pics of the toy, focusing on the damaged bits/ I think it would help everyone who wants to help, including myself.

take it appart, remove the automorph spring, put it back together, and transform it on your own from now on... other than that, it's broken, and it won't stay up. if you forced the automorph on the first transform, then yeah, it's broken real good.

take out the springs, or takle it back for a new one.

    happened to me too.

none are defective. some are just easier to break.

if you push the button, even the so-called "defective" one will be fine (mine is, and I transform it damn near daily).

and if you don't push the button, the "non defective" one can break too.

I did press the button though. I never forced the automorph. So then what?

First off, is your Bumblebee broken, or not? If it's broken, then you're SOL. If not, then you've just got a hair-trigger Bumblebee, which can easily be cured just by taking an extra step in transforming him.

From car mode (other than the front end that flips back down without much provocation), use your thumb to pull back on the windshield a bit. This'll provide more clearance to pull the hood back. Now just pull the hood back far enough that it starts knocking the rest of the car parts out of alignment. It should be locked in place now. Just massage the rest of the car parts back into place, and it should be fine.

What's all this guide the hood down crap? I just push the button and let it fly, I really can't see how it's defective.

One thing though, sometimes, the hood doesn't click in at first, when it does you'll notice the button hasn't come all the way up, just push it and make it click.

I was just going to mention this. I have to push the button again when I transform mine as well to get it to latch. So far, no problems.

I always have to just slightly push the button when transforming him back into a car. The hood won't lock into place unless I'm holding it there and then touch the button. Have you tried that?

    Bumblebee 2008!

There is no denying which one looks better...

The 2008 Bumblebee really feels like an alternator minus the rubber tyres and detailed interior. The vehicle mode is as detailed as the real car and the robot mode is as close as you can get to the cgi robot used in the movie.. The transformation process is just amazing especially the transformation of the feet... The best from the deluxe movie line thus far. A must have guys!!!!
