It took them a decade and 5 shitty awful attempts but seems we finally have a transformers movie that at least looks like it could actually be, a transformers movie.

Though ehhh who knows could still end up awful. Least the robot designs are somewhat decent this time around. Starscream looking pretty cool. Wish he had a proper face though, so soooo sick of movie tf's not being allowed to have proper faces as apposed to the ugly mess of overly-intricate nonsense they always have. Can't believe bumblebee is still mute and mouthless. What I would give for them to do a hard reset and just MCU the whole thing. But I guess it's too much to ask still a decade later.

 

I'm surprised there haven't been any kneejerk "Too much GURL I need BOI PROTAGONIST" reactions yet. Or are these limited to Twitface, Instahate and the likes?

 

I expect so. A VW bug is way smaller than a camaro, so it's naturally going to yield a much smaller robot.

I can't wait to see Starscream's redesign fully revealed. My favorite Movieverse toy is Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, and I can see myself picking up a lot of toys that come out for this movie if it marries the Movieverse designs with classic designs as well as that toy did.

I am also pretty excited to see what a non-Bay TF movie can accomplish. I really liked Kubo, which was by the same director of this movie, but after being burned so many times by the live action movies, I am hesitant to get my hopes up.

Anyway, I hope that seeker will be Starscream.
There's was no indication in the Bayformer films about Starscream's location after Megatron crash landed on arctic region.
All that was mentioned was Decepticons was in search of the Cube racing with Bee scouting on Earth.

If we could use the 2007 film's premise then I think Bee arrived here on Earth 1st. And to use TLK's plot, Bee wasn't the only autobot arrived on Earth. There was his buddy Hot Rod. We could eliminate the "Paintings" on TLK movie because it already destroyed the 2007 film's narrative on Autobot's Arrival part.

That said, Bee and Rod are here already on earth and racing with the Decepticons (Starscream/Seeker and Barricade) on whatever McGUFFIN they're looking for.

I don't know how will this movie "RESET" some plots from previous films while tying it up with 2007 film hearing Bernie Mac's voice.

The narrative of "They're here for so long" fits the ROTF Narrative of Agent Simmons & recorded by S7.
- There was Jetfire in hiding
- The Model T-Ford Car
- Propeller Plane (if not shown in the movie, there was a scout class toy released)
- Cadilllac looking car (named Hubcap in the movie toyline)

And there was The Fallen and the Primes locked inside the Pyramid.
Sentinel Prime was buried on the dark side of the Moon.
And Megatron who was frozen in ice.

Oh, if you want to consider counting Dragonstorm (The Knights) too.
But I will not. because it didn't explain how those Knights arrived on earth.

I guess this movie will retconned many of the Bayverse film plots for sure.

I am digging these designs.
The trailer almost sold me on watching it.

Waiting for a few more trailers and some fan reviews.
Byt so far its looking great!

 

I prefer bayformers designs with a bit of G1 or IDW storyline.

In this case those designs are quite good, considering the era where the movie is taking place in.

 

First impressions of the trailer, liked it. Yes, fewer robots, but I think the movies need to bring things back down to a more personal scale, get away from massive world-spanning conflicts and get back to a more human story, and that looks like what we're seeing here. This feels like it has the same heart to it that the original movie had - it's about an ordinary girl who gets a car and goes on an adventure, classic coming of age story, just with a robot thrown in.

The robot designs? Excellent, they feel much closer to the Transformers I grew up on while still keeping that movie-styled realism and detail. Starscream looks fantastic, that actually looks like him.

Overall, feeling positive on this one. I'll wait and see when I see it, but this could well be exactly what the movie franchise needs to right itself.

 

Oh yeah! I AM PUMPED! I guess this is the right time for me to be more active in the boards. Would want to see all possible comments from you guys regarding this new TF movie. And yes, hopefully this will be the proper TRANSFORMERS CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (TCU) we all deserve!

God damn, the trailer is amazing! 

 

Wow, that's a really nice trailer. The soft opening lines from Uncle Bobby B. really brings in some good nostalgia flooding in, the looming overhead transformation scene reminds me of that famous first time Prime transforms, and the design for Bee is great, like a mixture between movie and WFC. Then we get that awesome F-4 starting to transform, a little taste of action, and end on a Rickroll.

I've always looked forward to the next movie, but now I'm actually hyped.

 

This looks amazing! I’m so happy and excited for this! Bumblebee looks loveable and small. Starscream looks like starscream! It’s the live action version of him that we never thought we’d get! I love how they have visible head syndrome on the bottom. I can’t wait for the MPM of this and any other characters. This is gonna be great! Also does it look like bumblebee may turn into a Jeep at one point?
