My bet on that unknown Duran-Duran song is Hungry Like a Wolf; if this playlist is any accurate.

Haven't heard the clip, but my guess would be "Planet Earth"... for the obvious reasons.

So far they've used 3 of the songs I posted/suggested in the other thread someone made a few weeks ago about song wishes, so these guys are already batting a thousand as far as I'm concerned, haha.

PS: the title of that particular The Smith's image is Salford Lads Club - it was used on their posters & shirts promoting The Queen Is Dead album in 1986.

Thanks for the info, I meant to reply to this earlier and then I completely forgot!

Edit: that's actually the album that "Bigmouth Strikes Again" is from.

    A couple notes:

I'm not entirely sure which version of "Walk This Way" the DJ Bumblebee toy uses. To me it sounds like the Aerosmith version, because the Run-DMC version has stronger bass. That's going by Optibotimus' video review.

I'm not sure "Bust a Move" will be in the movie, since it was released in 1989 (the movie takes place in '87). If it's not, I'll probably create a section for "marketing-only songs". The goal of this thread is to catalog every musical reference associated with this movie (outside of the instrumental score), including ones that aren't actually in the movie.

Edit: I think I'll also add those "fake songs" from the toy packaging (and link them to the real world counterpart).

Well, I have a lot of work to do on this thread. This movie had far more songs than I expected (dare I say about twice as many as Guardians of the Galaxy...maybe even more than that). I recognized some of them, and didn't recognize others.

If you recognize any of the songs in this movie, please post them here (and possibly a description of the scene they were played during too).

After seeing the movie, I went to a restaurant that played nothing but '80s songs. Between Bumblebee and that restaurant, I think I had a very '80s night!

Well, technically, both versions are the Aerosmith version - the second one just featured Run DMC. But anyway, the one used for the toy is the original.

Sounds like songs from Tears for Fears and Bon Jovi make appearances as well. Jovi's is "Runaway", but I haven't been able to hear and confirm which TFF song. Assuming it'll be "Everyone Wants To Rule The World".

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the toy features the original version, that's what I went with. I didn't hear that song in the movie, but it did play in the restaurant I went to afterwards. I'm going to keep it on the list, since it's part of the marketing.

"Runaway" definitely plays, although I don't remember the context of the scene. I've already added it. I'm 99% sure the Tears for Fears song was "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".

Makes the most sense given the title.

The Duran Duran track has to be "Planet Earth" or "Hungry Like a Wolf" - either one easily applies to the context of this movie.

Nope, both wrong. It was "Save a Prayer." It plays over the first time we see Hailee at work, if I'm remembering right.

You can be 100% sure. It was.
