General Motors Says Orders for Camaro Sports Cars Outrun Supply - Bloomberg.com
No surprise there; the new Camaro is amazing. Too bad I don't have the cash for anything resembling a new car.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if the demand for the Camero was enough to pull GM out of potential bankruptcy?
Unlikely, but it would be funny.
if i could afford the new camero, i would be buying one myself, they are a sweet ride.
Now what would be REAL funny, if there were a sudden spike in demand for Yellow Bugs...
bet they wish they had a Cliffjumper repaint in the movie too!
Wow... just wow...
I wish I could get a Camaro... in BB colors... but... be my luck, it'll be 10 years before I will be able to afford one...
The Camaro commercial before the movie was pretty interesting -- 29 mpg with a 300+ horsepower engine?!
That actually can happen. It did for Chrysler Corp in the 1980's when they came out with the Caravan. That minivan alone saved the company from going under. After I move, I think I am going to place an order on one myself as well. I wanted to buy one outright, but that's not going to happen with a $30K price tag.
They're still five years late to the retro musclecar game.
I always preffered the Firebirds to the Cameros, and I'm not really anymore impressed with this Camero, than with past ones.
Massive sales show otherwise.
I preferred Firebirds as well. But there is no more Pontiac (DAMN YOU GM!!! ), and the early plans for a Firebird cousin was scrapped in 2008.
I always preferred Firebirds/ T/A to Camaros as well but what are you going to do?
Having direct injection probably helped with those stats.
I'd love to own one myself. The interior looks a little too retro for my tastes though.
Exclusive Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro released | Transformers
I've already contacted Chevy about getting this. I should hear back soon =)
Me too. I have a 2000 WS-6
And that was just the V-6!!!! I think that more than the Mustang GT is putting out.
It might. They'd REALLY sell if they were able to slap Autobot logos on a limited run of "special movie version" Camaros, like they did on the Topkick (except the Camaro isn't as much as a gas guzzler as Ironhide is)
How much of that is going to the wheels?
They showed that comercial twice before the movie. Both times people thought the movie was going to start
I SERIOUSLY doubt this will "save" GM. In fact it has zero possability of doing so. And its selling like mad because..well...its a all new retro styled camaro DUH!
Good news sure, but a long, LONG, LONG way to go before this car "saves" GM (talking orders on the magnatude of 15,000,000+! 25,000 is just a drop in that bucket)....not that it could anway.
And NO the minivan didn't save Chrysler. The K-car mechanics it(and many other models) were built upon did. A single car model CAN'T save a company that is even half the size of GM.
Apparantly there's also a huge increase in demand for weird spikey flying tanks.
There's always a demand for those.
