I've noticed quite a few people complaining about Bee's beeping. So, out of curiosity, I thought a poll was in order.

Me personally, I don't mind it. But that may be because I really liked Pixar's Wall-E. :/

I was still setting it up. I guess the thread posts before one finishes the poll itself.

I like the beeping. It works as a form of communication, vs. Movie BB's pained wheezing which AFAICT is not speech that anyone understands, just noises. TFP Bumblebee isn't a mute, he just doesn't speak English.

I like his beeps in Episode six better than his Darkness rising beeps, but it was a little jarring hearing slightly different sounds JUST as I got to know them.

It was mildly annoying in Darkness Rising, but I quickly grew tired of it in Masters and Students.

its somewhat annoying, seems cheesy when someone who understands him agrees with him by basically repeating what he was beeping about, i don't know, its tolerable i guess.

I found it really irritating in yesterday's episode. I hope Ratchet fixes his voice soon.

It's alright. Only problem is how every character needs to go "Really? You think that _________?" so the audience can understand too.

Not likely. In an interview with one of the creators, it was stated that we wont see an episode that addresses Bee's lack of a voice till season 2. And we still have about 20 more episodes of season one to go.

Also, part of me doubts that they will ever really fix his voice, since they also stated that they went with a mute Bee becausse that's the version of the character the new generation relates to as Bumblebee.

I get that they're trying to make him different or sympathetic by giving him this voice quirk, but it doesn't make sense.

In the case of Bumblebee, we know that his fellow Autobots understand him, so not having an English voice doesn't give him a disadvantage or dramatic tension in that regard. The human he's paired with understands him, so he doesn't have to make unique attempts at communicating to everyone like Movieverse BB does. No symbiosis or creativity needed there.

Translating everything he says could still be useful to moving the plot along, but since we know that it's done for the audience's benefit that will get really tiring and illogical. Sort of like, "What's that Lassie? Little Timmy went down to Old Man Jenkins' farm and fell into a well and he can't get out?" Only, substitute Bumblebee for "Lassie" and Jack and Meko for "Little Timmy."

I conclude that the only point of TF: Prime BB not being able to talk, is to connect him to Movieverse BB.

I don't like it. Wastes valuable episode time with everyone repeating what he said and I just don't feel any connection to him as a character. Even non-talking Soundwave has more character.

Well of course. As you would see from my previous comment, the creators have pretty much come out a said that they went with this choice because this is the identifiable version of the character for this generation. Whether some fans like it or not.

I'm personally OK with it. In fact, I find those who are whining about "how irritating it is" to be more irritating.

he's ok, lol I want the toy, and i suppose he is interesting, i like that he got a lot more screen time and action, during this episode, too, and i like that prime did NOT defeat skyquake, but Bee did, instead, THAT i like.

Well, at least it actually sounds somewhat coherent, unlike movie Bee's "speech."
PLUS, we know that Raf's high school teaches Bumblebeese. :p

I was quite irritated by it in the new episode.

And I think they're just driving this idea of a speechless Bumblebee into kids' minds more than necessary. Kids aren't dumb; they'd know who he is even with speech. It's not like they'd go "Oh man, this Bumblebee can talk? Well I guess I'm not watching this show anymore!"

So their reasoning for including him has left me unsatisfied.
