    Taken from Seibertron...

Pete@Botcon has confirmed on the Transformers Collectors Club forums that the new character, Bug-byte, is indeed the mysterious leader referred to in the Botcon brochure.

So with that in mind, this may change people's guesses as to which characters will be used in the souvenier sets as well as the free attendee exclusive.

Don't know what this means for Dreadwing/Dreadwind/whatever. Maybe he's not going to be a Jetfire repaint afterall.

Actualy I would think it kind of neat if this Bugbite is still a white Bumblebee like the gobot repait from e-hobby. I like the idea of a tiny leader.:)

Also, Jetifre is very similar with Dreadwind in robot mode, so a Voyager it's just in use, and give a tf the name BUGbite is only for a reference to his BB's aspect. ^^

So can we assume that Bug-Byte is the Decepticon equivalent of Napoleon? A diminutive leader I can see, but if he's indeed a repaint of Bumblebee...that'd make him short AND cute. Oh noooooooes!

I looked at this and thought "THIS IS NEWS?!" Pete said this about a week ago... I didn't realize it didn't make it to the mainstream.

If it wasn't for the fact that all the molds are likely to be classics, I'm kinda hoping for either that Transmetal Waspinator repaint (he is a SEEKER too!) that never came out for Universe or even better... DIRGE GUN!! It's probably Bumblebee though...

Why does it matter which one is the leader? Is this really something to get upset about?

If Pete confirmed it, it's actually a confirmation, not a rumor.

Exactly. This the Marvel G1 continuity (my personal preference). Ratbat was leader of the Decepticons (and was actually pretty successful). Anything goes. :D

Bug-Bite as Classics Bumblebee is on WIKI too. Listed as an "educated guess" but I'm so cool with the idea. Maybe there will be a new head sculpt.

I don’t see why the leaders have to be big, I mean really the brutes/heavy hitters should be big, leaders need brains more than brawn. Neither megatron or shockwave were the biggest or strongest TF in G1 but they lead the con’s pretty well, hell ratbat even did a pretty good job.

In all honesty the con’s being lead by the biggest strongest one of them always makes them seem like a band of thugs rather than an army, probably why I’ve found the last few shows so lacking.

Backscatter bug bite originally had bumblebee’s head so if it is class BB mould I would very much doubt there would be a remould. My personal hope is given there are thrust’s wings and with any luck dirge’s wings to be done before any one would really need a head remould.

eh, Bug Bite being leader doesn't bother me. I personally can see them remolding Ramjet's wings for Dirge and Thrust, and remolding Jetfire's head for Dreadwing. As long as the exclusives look good, the story line doesn't really matter that much to me, lol.

Well...Uh...Atleast he won't retreat when a rabbit crosses his path. That makes him more suited than Megatron.

Why should this info have any bearing on what mold is used for Dreadwind?

Makes sense to me, since the implication is the 'mysterious leader' isn't a super-strong type. It's rather un-Decepticon, but maybe these guys follow him because Bug treats 'em well and respectfully? (Thundercracker and that bunch aren't known for being the power-grabby types anyway)

mayhaps, bug bite garners loyalty by rewarding seekers with rocket treats.
