Interesting. I really like the animation style, but it seems to just be re-hashing the show, and while the show was great, it sorta makes this reduntant and pointless.

Still, I give it a watch if I can. I love the Weadon properties.

This was an idea from 2001, this was the promo they used to shop around to studios. They were afraid it was too adult and no studio wanted to back it. The promo was long rumored, but no one had seen it until it was recently leaked on youtube. I'd have prefered a more detailed style.

I'm guessing this takes place before the series.

It was a reboot. Buffy is obviously more powerful and the plot was a little more kiddy.

Damn, who wrote that script? Its terrible. That and the acting.

Anyways, yeah, I learned about this two years ago when I was still interested in Supernatural and BTVS. I honestly thought it was a pitch to make a kid-friendlier version of the TV Show, because I figured, unless it was like The Simpsons (or straight out of Japan), I doubted anyone over the age of 20 was going to watch it over the Live-Action TV show or even a sub when the show was on Haitus after a season finale.

With better animation and on an adult time slot it could work. I'd watch it if it was on Adult swim or scifi and based off the season 8 comic.

It wasn't a reboot anymore than the Clone Wars was a reboot of Star Wars.

It was set specifically during the first 3 seasons of Buffy, perhaps in response to dissatisfied fans who never got over the series post-high school seasons.

As for the plot being "more kiddie", how exactly? Other than budget (live TV couldn't do the dragon sequence) and pacing (animation has to be faster), I'm not sure this would have been out of place in the live action series.

Ah. I thought this was something up-coming. Still, it may have been fun.

This toon was meant to tell stories that would have proven too costly to produce on a television budget. Hence the dragon in the clip. I, for one, am sorry that this project died. I also think a more adult toon would be just as good, if not better.

I'd love to see it done with anime studio, coming out as well done as avatar or boondocks.
