Who remembers this wickedly cool cartoon? i was 11 years old when it first aired and became a fan of it, i even had the toys and played the video game both arcade and NES. Bucky was such a cool fellow but DeadEye Duck was a total badass! he was like a cross between Goro from Mortal Kombat with those arms and Daffy Duck with a hint of Han Solo. I had a major crush on Jenny, you know the pink haired catgirl psychic babe? loves me some catgirls and she reminded me so much of M'ress from the Star Trek cartoon only i think she was modeled after her with a bit of Jean Grey while Bucky was modeled after Flash Gordon. I've even read the graphic novel and it's quite enjoyable. Now if only they can make a new show or even a CGI animated movie.
I loved it. Still do. Go here The Bucky O'Hare Fan Fiction and Information Site it's a fan site where over the years people have continued the story via some suprisingly good and cohesive fan fiction, they created 4 entire series of the stuff...
Yeah too bad it was only 12 episodes. The creators actually tried to get a new series going. This was shown at conventions for awhile, but nothing ever happened. Bucky O' Hare - YouTube The voice work could have been better
I was NUTS for this show as a kid! I knew every scene of every episode how much I watched it! And the intro was pure badassness!
Bucky was one of my favorite shows. I still have the entire series on vhs! Konami really needs to release the arcade game on a compilation set already. It was cool and a lot of fun! The show actually managed to sneak in a bunch of themes that I wouldn't have expected for a show about space-faring animals. Stuff like the romantic angle between Bucky and Mimi the Fox (and Jenny's subtle jealousy). Willy always felt kind of tacked on, but even he wasn't too bad. Mostly because his science expertise was put to use in the engine room while Bucky, Jenny, Deadeye and Bruiser did all the real fighting. And Toad Borg! That guy was a cool villain right up there with the best of them!
I remember that I liked the show, but I actually remember very little of it. I loved Dead-Eye Duck. Really cool toy too. I remember getting the Toad Croaker toy and making another spaceship out of a cardboard box.
Who else thought David Lizewski from the Kick-Ass comics looks just like Willy Duwitt the 12 year old human boy? if you read that graphic novel you'll see the resemblance between both. A new series would be great and explore more into the aniverse including new enemies. Mimi was cool but kind of a bossy as she lusted over Bucky while Jenny would do anything for him. Who else thought DeadEye Duck was awesome and looks like Daffy Duck's bastard imbred mutant son? They have this on youtube.
I think it's kind of cool how much of the Beast Wars cast was voicing characters in Bucky. Terrorsaur = Bucky Optimus Primal = Toadborg Deadeye Duck = Rattrap, etc. Komplex = Rhinox Oh, and I guess Blinky = Armada Jetfire, Energon Sixshot.
I always wondered what the name of the show was. I've owned a few toys from that show, but did know what they were.
I really liked this show, wish it would have lasted. I was only able to get the toy of the Gorilla but I still have him to this day
I loved Bucky! It was originally a comic created my none other than everyone's favorite G.I. Joe writer Larry Hama working with the great Neil Adams. How cool is that! I still think Righteous Indignation is one of the coolest spaceship names ever. And I wish there had been a Jenny action figure.
Jenny would have been nice in the figures but too bad there was no other characters. Who else agreed that Jenny was cute for a catgirl from space?
