Third party cmpanies are awesome. Give me three good reasons why they arent any good

 

Ratbat looks nice, but are the blocky G1 cassettes that bad? Am I the only one that doesn't want updates of the original cassettes? I like my Rumble, Ravage, and Ratbat as they are.

 

If they are all sold seperately, Ratbat will definately be going into my classics collection. I am happy enough with the Ravage that came with Hound (after Venksta produces missles), and have enough F/R between the PE ones and the United ones.

 

i want prices on these asap. sonicron for 30 is nice, but how much will these be?

 

third parties rock. i just have to pick and choose a bit.

 

Wow, totally awesome! Cassettes are so popular, I've been wondering when 3rd parties would make new ones. Just hoping they're reasonably priced. If they're $10 a pop, I'd get them all!

 

I like the Ratbat...not so sure about the rest

 

Ratbat is great, the rest is garbage.

 

1. Not-Ratbat = awesome

2. Not Frenzy:
- hips too wide, that with tle slim body makes it look bad
- legs look small (or upper body is too tall)
- details on upper body should cover a wider area, too much empty space on the side and top of the detailed area
- needs his weapons
- arms are ok
- head looks very nicely detailed
- good idea on the piledrivers

3-Not Ravage:
- looks awesome except for the weird neck with tiny head and the too long lower legs

 

They're two packs. Frenzy Rumble in one, Ratbat Ravage in the other.

 

This pretty much sums it up man.

 

Interested. Will wait to see final product and price as per usual.

 

I remain highly amused that the only one people are saying is any good is the one that's we haven't seen the finished article of.

 

Taking a closer look, these look like painted Shapeway pieces. And very roughly cut at that with the ravage being the worst offender. The Frumble mould could have surpassed the narrow waist and birthing hips if the face had any character and personality at all.

Ratbat's design is epic which makes me wonder why the huge gap between his strong design and the rest of the weak ones. Also I think he may lose some luster once he gets built.

I really don't like the way the parts are cut, too rough and way too fragile looking.

I won't hate and hope that at least the Ratbat turns out to be win because I am not passing up on a $29 Sonicron.

 

By far the worst like cassettes to date. They will sell as much as sonicron sold, which means, not that much.

 

I hate to dump on projects like this, because obviously put a lot of work into them, but...

The Frenzy/Rumble design is just seriously flawed. The overall design aesthetics just don't feel like Transformers... stylistically, the proportions and the detailing are just... off.

Also something that's highlighted in this figure is the way that, despite having a bit more articulation, it's hard to see it as an improvement on the G1 cassette bots. It just fails to look as good as an almost 40-year-old design that itself would have been vastly improved by the addition of a couple of ball-joints.

Ravage looks okay, but not better than the Hasbro Classics version, or the easily obtained and cheap Device Label ko, or even really the original G1 (which has always been one of the best looking G1 toys, despite being pretty much 2-dimensional).

Ratbat looks really promising...easily the best of the bunch. However, these are just design sketches. We can only hope that they manage to execute the final product as well as it looks in the pictures.

I'm gonna echo everyone else: Ratbat is awesome, the rest suck.

 

these look like they were designed over a lunch break. except of course, the ratbat concept.

 

This is what has me most confused. How do you get such an inspired design such as ratbat in the same mix as the rest which seem to be designed by a bunch of special needs students?

I still hold on to hope that some 3rd party group will make Neo Cassettes that all rival the great design of BTS's Ratbat. Perhaps IF Ratbat lives up to the design it will inspire others to tackle the rest. And groups don't bother with Ravage, Hasbro got him right. The most you can do is add a hip swivel, other than that just leave it be.

Also with such a strong Ratbat design I wonder what the birds would look like?
