    Hey all

So i,m sitting at my desk in work and a package is placed in front of me.
Its the BTA01 Red Alert i ordered a week or two ago.

I havent had a chance to open him yet. Have to wait till lunchtime:banghead:
So question is does anyone else have him and what do you think?
Out of all the Subaru molds is he the best/worst?

Have a set of BT Arming Missiles waiting for him when i get home. He is gonna look so badass:D

The one I had, I turned it into a BT Prowl and used the head fro my Red Alert custom. The Subaru mold is my favorite and you won't be disappointed with this guy. Have fun man :thumb

Ah the toy that SHOULD have been Prowl. Truth be told, the Prowl mold that is in use makes a better Red Alert AND a better Sideswipe. Least more G1 accurate.

It's a great decoration scheme, but there have been reports of QC issues.

I don't have one but I have heard there were problems with parts lining up in vehicle mode.

I've got two, actually.... one I kept as Alert and one I kitbashed into Prowl.

It's a great-looking mold, and with a head-swap and some paint adjustment makes a PERFECT Prowl. But even as Alert, he looks really great... the Silverstreak head mold looks excellent in red.

But, the QC issues are not a myth. Both of my figures have very loose left shoulder joints... like, the arm always flops to the side, it won't stay up at all. And the second figure I got was actually completely missing the pin/peg that held one of it's back-door pieces on. So the back-door/shin piece was just laying there in the box, nestled exactly where it SHOULD have been, with no pin attaching it to the rest of the figure. Nice. I've got the door around here somewhere, and someday I'll find a way to affix the damn thing back on.

So, hopefully I just got unlucky, and you're won't have any of these issues. Aside from those things, he is an excellent figure. Even the little PVC girl that comes with him is cool (and not uncomfortable pervy like the KISS girls).

    Good luck! :)

I agree with the above issues. I've got him, and while he's great in bot mode, the body segments just don't align in car mode. from what I understand, it's because of this being the 4th/5th version of this mold released by takara, and that the mold had started to get worn out, causing the panel issues.

I bought that figure just to make myself a G1-accurate Prowl, and he looks fantastic (as everyone else keeps referencing, he looks like this: http://seibertron.com/toys/fullsize.php?id=781&size=1&image=130 ). However, I have actually not been able to transform him completely because of difficulties getting things to line up correctly, a problem I haven't had with any other of my Alts. Doesn't really matter, though, as I have him displayed as a robot, but it's kind of annoying.

(here are some more pics of what you can do with a Prowl Alt or BT and some reprostickers:

Mine never had a proper alignment for its transformation either.

Glad to see it wasn't me being inept.

I was never able to get the rear windows to line up nicely, and the right shoulder has some major droop because of the loose hinge (who thought that a hinge like that should hold up all the weight of the arm? seriously? how could that possibly be a good idea?). If I get around to it, I'll probably put it up for sale since I can't really find a whole lot of love for it. But .. uh... hey! congrats on yours!

Alert looks nice, but as stated before he doesn't line up properly in car mode. My BTA Sunstreaker has a similar problem, though not as bad.

Right arm and toes are loose alright. Still, looks cool with a couple of BT Launchers and the colour scheme is nice:)
