As I draw nearer and nearer to polishing off the season 1 and 2 'bots and 'cons in my display, I am finding a disturbing lack of Skids...

I know that BTs and Alternators are 1:24, roughly voyager size and scale better with Masterpieces, but has anyone used BT Skids as their Classics Skids? I'm finding it hard to fill this gap in my collection with any other figure... Any thoughts?

BT Skids would look completely out of place, it's a shame that Alternity Bumble wasn't redone as Skids, would have been ideal.

Nah. BT Skids is a terrible G1/Classics Skids even when you take away the size and scale of the Binaltech line.

I do agree on the notable lack of Skids available for the Classics collector, using a Honda Fit-like alt mode.

Closest is probably Energon Towline who was a homage in colours.

Other than that I struggle to think on a suitable figure to fill the bill. Lets just hope that with his recent exposure in the comics he's in the line for an updated figure.

Honestly, I think RTS Jazz with a boxier, remolded shell would've worked.

I've been thinking for a while that Hound could be repainted into Skids as well. Even almost as a straight repaint, though of course that would be a change to his alt mode. I guess a Jazz repaint would amount to the same thing. Either way, I'd like a Classics Skids, but given that he's at best a C-level character I'd be fine with him as just a lazy gap-filling repaint. A Jazz re-shell, like you mentioned, would be ideal be seems unlikely.

I actually think Alt Skids, if he were downsized, would make a fine Classics version. The Scion is spiritually similar to a Honda City, and it still had the hood-chest we associate with him. But his size is just too different, he'd look completely out of place. So my answer would be no, he wouldn't really work.

As Rotorstorm mentioned, your best bet among existing figures is probably E. Towline. But urgh, I really hate repurposing figures. Bleah.

I absolutely LOVE this custom/reshell...I wanted to do something similar, but bot to bot scale isn't too huge of a deal to me, so BT and G1 Skids do me fine...that's an interesting idea using Alternity Bee for Skids...I got halfway to my man cave before I remembered that I sold it a couple of days ago.

Thanks for all the responses guys... not a fan of towline as a repurpose, and the only G1 figures I have left are Ultra Magnus and Hothouse... BBTS has a pretty good deal on BT Skids right now, and seeing as I am now up to 3 (THREE!) Masterpieces, I may take a flier on him anyways...

Last thing, anyone have a shot of BT/ALT Skids with a Classics prowl or Jazz? Many thanks in advance...

I thought about doing it once but decided he was too big and the aesthetic doesn't match up quite right.

BT's and Alts have no place in a Classics line up IMO. Alternity on the other hand can fit nicely, especially Bumblebee. It isn't even the size, it is the aesthetic - BT looks old fashioned.
