My partner has, very kindly, spent a good chunk of time having a crack at translating the BT-19 and BT-20 story. It is titled 'Unfinished Business' and reads rather well.

There were several words which caused problems because they are specific to the Transformers story. I did my best to find the right phrases but it may still be a little odd.

Here is part 1 from BT-19.

    Cool, thanks!

Hard to say without reading the original text, but is "blue ass" = 「尻の青い」 in the original? If so, that's too much of a direct translation....

The original says aoi shiri which I assume is ok since he is chatting to Bluestreak. But, yeah, most of it is open to some degree of interpretation so I could be taken differently.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess that pun is hard to put into English.

I just want to say thanks to my girlfriend for taking time to translate this for me. She has no interest in Transformers but was kind enough to do this in her own time.

That being said, time for Part 2 - BT-20

Just a few minor corrections here. :)

The good guys are the "Earth Defense Command".

The bad guys are the "Concurrence". :)

Are you sure you mean Argent, not Auric? Argent = Silver. Auric = Gold. You say the big giant is gold, and theyr'e both made of synthetic electrum, so it struck me as weird.

Yup, its definately Argent. I read it as Meister injecting energy into his own Argent armour to give himself a power boost.

If he was injecting the energy into the giant gold thing then it should probably be Auric. But the katakana reads Argent so I assume its right :)

Weird. But good it know. (I wonder if it's supposed to be a reference to Silver Coat from the Keepers Trilogy?)

These read very fanfic like, more like the henkei mangas. Are they still written by that guy, hirofumi ichikawa I think? Anyway, many thanks for the translations!

So the new story doesn't really explain the appearance of Bluestreak and Argent Meister right? Or did I miss something from the text I just read. Or are they two Autobot from a different dimension?

I prefered it when the stories were told from an outside perspective away from the action.

It's not quite that simple. "Blue" in Japanese is similar to "green" in English - IE, "Green-horn" or "Green-bark"; young or inexperienced.

So, I guess he's sort of calling Bluestreak a n00b. Or something. While still referring to his blue coloring... So it's correct that the intricacies of the pun don't really translate.
