So I finally built up enough courage to open him.

Packaging was a bitch but I managed to open it like I did with my Nemesis Prime, who's packaging was the only one I kept from the ALT line because of it being an exclusive and all.

I gotta say the amount of diecast on the thing is unparalleled. Pretty much the entire truck is diecast with the exception of the roof and spoiler. Hood, fenders, front bumper, legs are ALL DIECAST which explains why it's even heavier than your usual BT.

I love the normality of it with no red windows and such. Other than that, I gotta say I love the paint job. I won't compare it to Nemesis Prime since both of them are unique in their paint apps and I like them both equally as much.

As far as comparison pics, IRL has an excellent gallery for that. So I won't be taking any comparison pics.

Sorry for it being a little out of focus since my camera's acting up, but here are the pics I took:

Got it at WonderCon on Saturday. Was the only one there. The seller just got back from Wonder Festival and had a booth at WonderCon.

Cost me a pretty penny though.

Here's what I did with the packaging to get him out:

Basically I used a razor and traced along the edge of the plastic flap on the front and two sides of the packaging so that when I lifted the plastic flap, the cardboard wouldn't rip past the plastic flap on the outside. Doing so makes it nice and neat as you can see in the pics.

I left the back flap attached so that the plastic dome can be lifted like you see in the last pic.

I plan on getting some velcro with adhesive backs and putting them along the plastic flaps that were cut so that they can be velcroed to the cardboard box on the bottom.

    ***EDIT***

Here is the packaging after I put the velcro-like tabs on:

Yeah, it's something I am quite ashamed of actually. :(

But I do have every single BT including variants and I just couldn't pass this up. I have seen the figure sold for more on eBay though. What was the highest? Like $400?

wow, the amount of DC is pretty tempting. i could care less abt the disproportionate bot mode, but it sure would be sweet in alt mode.

    Any stability problems?

Given the fact that it basically rests on the spoilers, combined with it's weight i was concerned that it's unstable.

Yeah, the diecast running the entire length of the truck is just pure awesome.
You know, I actually didn't have any stability problems with it. In fact, now that I think about it, it was more stable than the three ALT versions.

Yeah, the knees are tighter. And amazingly, his legs are MUCH easier to transform compared to the ALTs and KP versions.

When I pulled out his legs, it was much more effortless than when I transform the three plastic versions.

I knew you couldn't resist and break down eventually :p

And thank God there was nothing wrong with it or we'd never hear the end of it.

Do any of the die-cast parts clash, possibly resulting in future paint chipping?

I'm trying to resist buying Black Convoy, but my resolve is faltering.

If they didn't get theirs at cost or steal it, that will be one HELLA expensive kitbash. :lol
Yeah, I sat at my desk for a good couple of hours just staring at it and deciding whether or not to open it or keep MISB.

But then I realized if I spent that much damned money on it, I better at LEAST transform it once.
I'd say the only places that risk paint chipping would be the doors where the hinges are and the hood. When you flip the hood over, you have to make sure that the shoulder parts, i.e. front bumpers are well away from it.

I gotta say though, the paint job is spectacular. The hood is so shiny that I can use it as a mirror!

Glad to hear that you actually appreciate your fig and don't see it as just an investment.

Very nice purchase and I am sure that you will always treasure it (and always kick yourself for spending too much, but who really cares???).

Ah, now you are making me want one. I have Alt NP, but I have all BTs otherwise (well Mirage, but that doesn't count) and I kinda want to keep the streak alive. I think I can resist.

    Nice pics.

Yeah, I just couldn't resist freeing him like I've done to all my TFs.

I'm thinking about finding a way to have someone create an actual regular BT box for him.
