I saw Bruticus Maximus at 2 different Targets, and they sat there for weeks. I did not care for it so I did not pick one up. After I saw Crossfire Explorer and Munitioner I decided to look for one. By this time Target had removed them from stock. I went to Ebay to look for one, and they are $60 or more. Why is the price jump so high? The Targets in my area could not move. Can someone fill me in on what I'm missing?

There's your reason. Everyone else must have seen that too and are also searching for the Bruticus Maximus set.

^ what he said. They sat here too and they disappeared, however Fansprojects set made the aftermarket price jump. Just like Superion did.

don't worry too much as soon as all of the Bruticus add on sets are sold the demand will cool and prices will drop a bit.

I'm glad I got mine when he first hit shelves. Sorry Cobra but you're SOL. Not to be rude or anything but you are gonna have to pay jacked up prices for the set. Did you think Munitioner and Explorer would be your little secret and that no one else would know about it? Trust me, when Fans Project makes an upgrade, everyone knows it and it makes them all go out buy the toy being upgraded. Supplies plummet as demand rises, thus the prices you see on eBay and amazon.

FP is pure win, their upgrades can make figures go from "shelf warming" to "rare" in an instant. I really love what they have done for fans and their collections, the city commander set is just epic.

    Good luck getting a Bruticus.

Actually, you're not screwed. Since the add-on set has two new figures a lot of people will have a spare copter and tank. As long as you don't care about color you can pick those up on the cheap. Energon/Universe Barricade for $7 at Ross is probably gone but the same figure for $10 at Family Dollar might still be available. Bam. Three bots you need.

And as brr-icy said, they're still available in Canada. $50 canadian is what $49 us? :D

I don't know what other figures are needed from that line, but there are plenty of these Energon Barricades (and others from that same line) at my local Big Lot for about $8.

If you get the cheap Energon Baracade (and have the other Energon appendages), you could strip the blue paint of Baracade off with alcohol, paint the important parts gray like the wheels, and it would match more with FP's addon. Or... just paint the wheels gray without stripping paint (though I think this would cause a mismatch, given the FP Bruticus crotch is sold gray).

Regional distribution snafus might be the culprit here, too. My local Targets never got in Bruticus Maximus. Not a single box. For us, it was Superion Maximus who sat around forever and then got clearanced. Anyone around here who wanted him is going to have to go to the secondary market, and that could be driving prices.

Energon Barricade got packed with Sharkticon, Steamhammer, and Stormjet (???). The other two limbs you would need with FansP Munitioner and Explorer to make four unique molds is any of the helicopter (Energon Blackout, Energon Stormcloud, ROTF Vortex, ROTF Swindle, TFCC Topsin, TFTM Reverb) and any of the tank molds (Energon Kickback, Energon Blight, ROTF Blast-Off, ROTF Brawl, TFCC Landquake, TFTM Gunbarrel).

Of course you can sub in any of the superion or devastator limbs.
