I probably should have posted this here awhile ago, but I was kind of putting it off, because originally I wanted to do this whole thread filled with my own takes on Transformer conbiners; but I never got around to it due to time constraints. This was the only one I ended up doing. But in any case, here is my own take on Transformers Bruticus: Higher rez can be seen here: http://fc48.deviantart.com/fs38/f/2008/333/0/2/Transformers_Bruticus_by_paxtin.jpg
Awesome work. I could really see this working in Animated- the style is there and there's still some of the G1vibe, but its very well balanced (its not TOO G1) Now if only Swindle could be un-timelocked... :b
Yeah, that's what people keep telling me it looks like. I find that interesting, since I didn't really set out for it to be a specific style. It's really just my own drawing style for robots. Thanks guys. Glad ya like it. Hopefully I'll get through some tech issues I'm having with my computer right now, and draw up some more soon.
It could be that his hand is just sorta floating there due to his thrusters. It looks sorta odd, but not bad. That's just me though, I still like the overall design :]
Yeah, I can see what you mean there. My original concept that I had in my head was that the thrusters would end up looking like knuckles, but it didn't really work out too well.
I can definitely tell you that the landing gear or whatever it is that is hanging from the arm probably shouldn't be there, and seriously, what is with the way that Swindle's cannon appears to be pointing at Bruticus's hand?
I didn't draw any visable landing gear on Blastoff...Are you sure you don't mean Vortex? the left arm, holding the gun. If that's the case, then...Whatever. I just drew that there, because that's roughly where the landing gear would be on a helicopter. Didn't really think of it being out of place. Also, Swindle's gun isn't really ment to be pointing at Brute's right hand. It's just the perspective I guess. The design idea was that I wanted Bruticus to have guns for knees.
I really like this! I'm always impressed when someone manages to present Transformer art using a new style that works. You do it, Josh does it, and Animated does it. Not bad company.
