I am working on these two items for CHUG Inferno and Grapple:

A Fireaxe for Inferno and a Sledge-hammer for Grapple.

NOTE: Grapple's item will have the handle design
adjusted to work with his unique hand-sculpt.

The handles are sized to fit 5mm fists, so other transformers can
    weild them as well.

I am working with a 3D designer and hopefully after a test run
and fit check. These will be available on Shapeways.

I really like the idea and the preliminary sketches, I am not feeling the finger guards.

The 'Axe' came first and was partially inspired by G.I. Joe: Barbecue's
hand-axe[#]. The 'Hammer' was originally a partial "remold" of the axe
with a new head design attached.

Both of these were designed back before the holidays last year.
I had no idea Grapple's hand design was going to be so unique
and non-functional. That's why I am working on an adaptor for
him so he can use 5 MM and C-Clip accessories.

Wait, Grapple can use 5mmm peg weapons, can't he?

He's like other RTS figs. His hands are sculpted open, but can still hold stuff.

EDIT: Apparently no, he does not. Interesting to see what solutions you come up with to work around it.

I'll buy just about anything on Shapeways, but I agree a hand-replacement zapper-prosthesis would be even more fun :)

You should totally make a set of Irons (Halligan bar and axe) with the 3mm clips where you can marry the tools together just like the real thing.

When you have physical copies of your work, be sure to start a new thread in Customs. Renders go in Fan Art.

Funny thing is I was considering doing a Halligan's tool at some point.
Maybe I will tackle that as well.

When I have a more finalized design for an addaptor for Grapple
I will start a thread for it and we can discuss how to make it better.

I have a second United Grapple on it's way so I think initially I am going
to "re-hand" a pair of forarms for him.

I have started a "Toolkit" list of items for Grapple and Inferno in my
projects folder. I will see what I can knock out for the pair of them.

I may take the plunge and order these in Stainless steel so they
can be recast. If any 3D Render modelers and/or casting folks
want to collaborate shoot me a PM.

Well my 3D rendering contact evaporated on me.

So I am currently looking for a new partner in crime.
