While trying to transform Defender form Armored Car mode to Heli mode, I noticed that the double jointed spine piece wasn't folding out all the way. I tried to use some force but no avail and thought it was a twist joint instead...but... "Springer" is now in two pieces.. And the joint still is stuck..

What kind of glue do I use to fix this..

I'm convinced that black joint piece was glued together in construction, it still won't move. The strange thing is, with all of the connector plugs for armored car mode, helicopter mode and robot mode...I think even being split in half won't hinder anything.

Truly a miracle of engineering. It still sucks though..

I took mine apart to see how that joint works:

You broke the black joint, which is just glued onto the back pack through a square pin. The best way to fix it is to glue the piece back, then drill a hole and put a screw on it to make sure it won't come apart again.

I almost had the same thing happen to me while transforming him. That SOB is tight as hell and I'm always afaid to apply to much force.

Where did you get it? If you bought it from BBTS or TFSource they will probably replace it.

I bought it from BBTS. Will they really replace it if I broke it or is that a "it came like this" thing.

I think you should at least ask. The first thing I'd try to do is exchange it before attempting any repairs.

Why? He clearly broke it himself. It's his fault, it's his $80 mistake. Live and learn.

Don't abuse the system and make it harder for the rest of us to return something to BBTS when we have legit QC issues.

I think that if the joint was so tight, that the figure broke trying to transform it...that is a QC issue.

I think that if there were a QC issue, we'd have heard about more than one breaking by now.

If the OP would claim to BBTS this is the way he got the product, then yes, I'd say he might not deserve to be helped. But this is not the case.

What's wrong with contacting the store and saying you have a broken toy and you would like to get it in one piece again somehow, if the store offers that? As Astronopolis pointed out, he/she broke the head off City Commander and got a replacement for 15 dollars. Still had to pay for it, but it's a solution nontheless.

    You're mixing things up.

If he broke it and expects them to give him a new one for free, that's messed up and it hurts us all as he's taking advantage of BBTS's already liberal return policy.

If he's asking for/paying for replacement parts, that's a different thing entirely.

Easy there folks. Yeah, I snapped it in half, reason being the black joint that is supposed to move backwards to extend the tail end of helicopter mode is stuck in place and even now doesn't want to move. I even tried to move it using pliers after it snapped off and it still doesn't want to budge. From what it looks like it was glued together with the green spine piece.

I contacted BBTS and told them of this and they're going to send me a replacement part, for money of course. Expecting to get a whole new $80 figure for free, that's crazy talk, and like Counterpunch? said, it hurts everyone.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice on how to fix it.
