Hey all a quick question. Why does broadside look so funky and different in Carnage in C Minor from season three?
because that episode was generally produced with the animators high on something. cocaine, its a hell of a drug.
cause of this 1.it is the episode Carnage in C minor 2. it is season three of g1 3. what animation did not go wrong in g1 minus the movie, that was a work of art in how they drew it and all
They effed it up, in "The Ark" (look it up, its a collection of all the G1 animation models put out a year or so ago by IDW) they make mention of it. Broadside had two different designs, if I remember right they screwed up and used one of the earlier designs for him in Carnage in C Minor as well as in some of the Marvel Comics. DN
does'nt mean I don't still like broadside. He bosses the aerialbots around and gets to beat up devastator daily.
The movie had animation errors too. Plus, the cartoon itself did have some beautiful animation as well, just check "Atlantis, Arise!" or "Auto Berserk".
I agree with Nevermore. G1 has some amazing animation. It is excellent stuff and still amazes me how well it holds up today.
I think the best parts of Carnage in C Minor was Galvatron and Soundwave holding hands, and the mysterious reemergence of Huffer and Brawn as Decepticons.
I like how Bruticus would roll into battle with all 5 Combaticons at his side and he was as tall as them in season 3.
The design used for Broadside is based on an early prototype that got ditched early on. It could be seen in some European toy catalogues, like so: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Proto_broadside.jpg Although based on this design, though, the cartoon's colour scheme appeared to be derived more from the finished toy, lacking any blue. The design was also used for the 1986 back-of-the-box mural artwork, and Broadside's appearance in the Marvel Comics, both coloured like the prototype, blue and all. While the cartoon switched to a toy accurate design with "Grimlock's New Brain," the comic never did, and Broadside look this way all though their run.
Me too, It really annoys me when people say that all G1 was poorly animated. Nearly all the eps in season 2 animated by TOEI looked amazing! Like 'microbots' or the cybertron battle scene at end of 'revenge of Bruticus', 'megs master plan' or 'desertion of dinobots' - all amazing stuff.
Broadside is the most lame triplechager of them all. I can stomach Springer and Sandstorm, which are both cool and look like their cartoon counterparts, but Broadside is lame looking. Apart from carrier mode, all others suck.
He is ok in the toon but the toy its self does suck. not much detail and rather simple transformations robot mode is the worst i think.
