Anyone else find themselves excited for Brink? I can't wait for it, looks to be a fun game. I love the ability to customize your character, weapons, perks and the SMART movement system that allows you to get around in more advanced ways than you would in a normal FPS.

I'm really excited for this game, it and Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions.

What's everyone else think of Brink?

I admit parts do look a tad boring but I'm hoping once they show us more of the game and more of the action that it changes. Either way S.M.A.R.T. looks like a nice system for new travel mechanics. Hoping to see it fine tuned and used in more games in the future.

Either way I've not seen enough of it to decide if I'm getting it or not but I'm sure excited to see more of it.

The devs have the best pedigree so they know what they're doing but it'll have to make for an amazing demo to get me to bite :/

I'm the same. I wanna see some in depth features on it before I buy it. I'd like to see the SMART incorporated into combat, like FEAR letting you run along the wall and jump off and kick someone in the head. I'm also wanting to see some awesome acrobatics going on, like being able to make my way to the top of a crane via SMART system in order to snipe/spot enemies. Then make a get away by sliding down the crane arm while firing off shots with my pistols at any enemies who are waiting for my descent then leap at the lest second, grab the railing of the crane's cabin and vault over it to kick an enemy in the chest and resume my escape while he's picking himself up off the floor. I know it's a long shot but I'd die for game play like that.

Still can't wait for this game. Looks better every time I see a video the game play and features. Definitely rolling a Light Operative on the Security side.

Comes out next month on the 10th, who else is getting it?

I gave up a day of fishing for this? It's alright, liking it so far even though it seems a bit slow and wonky at parts. I'm hoping they'll release a patch for it soon to give it some adjustments and some polishing. Brink has the ability to be something great, they just need to tweak it more. Personally I think the maps should be bigger with more wide open areas to fully take advantage the parkour.

Either way Brink is only just the fist step in new game play mechanics. In a few years maybe more games will use a more refined SMART system in more innovative ways, it's not bad for what is essentially the prototype of a new gaming genre. I love the customization, the feats of parkour and the weapons, now just make the maps bigger, fix all the bugs and add a compelling story and you'll have a great game.

A new game that has taken the honour of being the worst game of the year from Bulletstorm. Well done Brink.

Looks like Unreal Tournament 3 in just a different setting. Shame, I was on the fence with this game too.

I hardly call a glorified vault and climb action system a new gaming genre. It's an interesting movement mechanic in a class-based FPS, nothing more.

It's Quake Wars: Enemy Territory with a new art style.

It needs to prompt people that if they want to progress during a level that they should change their class at one of the stations and help out.

The UI is shite, fucking horrible shite. The whole game feels like it should be on XBLA for 15-20 dollars.

It's good for one thing and one thing only....easy achievements.

LOL. Recall, I love reading your rants on games that I was 1) on the fence about initially, then 2)totally skeptical about once they came out. Because it just leads me to 3) never going to buy it and glad I won't be spending the money.

Hey glad I could help :D

They have so much potential but they always fall so short especially based on the hype. Brink has so much already there but the basics have no polish, espeically the UI and actually finding other real people. The lack of content is a downer but if what was there was actually more refined it would be less of an issue.

Dissapointment leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to playing something else forever.
