One of the most awesome shows of my childhood, I think Hasbro should bring this one back from obscurity with an updated show. Or, at the very least, release the original on DVD.

If you're unfamiliar with it, here is a review of the show by James Rolfe (aka The Angry Video Game Nerd):

Inhumanoids cartoon review | Cinemassacre Productions

It was a Sunbow animated show, much like TF G1 and GIJoe, and features many of the same voice talent. What do you folks think?

Would you like to see some kind of acknowledgement of this show, or possibly even a new series?

I think the time is right. Everything is getting gritty reboots.... This series was gritty to begin with.

Honestly, no. You couldn't make that series in this day and age.

I've got the whole series on DVD and to be honest after the opening 'movie' episodes it gets kinda boring. How do you make underground monster battles boring? Inhumanoids somehow did, IMO. That and the main human guys in it were all kinda dicks.

I could see merit in reviving it with a few changes to make it fit better into what kids like these days from their monster shows. Maybe Pokémon it up a bit with collecting the various monsters across the planet and underground. Mix in some M.A.S.K. powers and transformations for the Earth Corp suits and vehicles. Throw in some environmental messages if they really must. And give it a toyline I'd at least consider collecting. Maybe some kind of collectable card game too. Or something like Top Trumps.

They should revive Robotix too. :)

I love this cartoon, but if someone were to make a reboot it would be horrible. There is no way they could do it without white washing the hell out of it.

    Holy shit, yes.

But bring back the toyline. Like others said, it wouldn't be right to reboot the show.

I think any of them would be great. Hell, I think even Tom Kenny could pull it off.

As for a show reboot, take a page from the Thundercats book and redesign the entire world. I'm a bigger fan of the new Thundercats than the OG series, and it's all because I find the world more believable, and the stories more coherent.

Same with He-Man. The original is near to my heart for nostalgic reasons, but the 20XX redux was by far a better show on every level.

Most of the greats from my youth have been re-imagined at least once. Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, He-Man, TMNT have all been redone in the last 10 years. And, IMO, all surpass the originals.

Tell me again why this wouldn't work for Inhumanoids? Other than plastic costs these days.

I'll say no, and go one farther. NO 80's toy property that had less than 2 years on the shelf should stay dead and NEVER be revived. If they couldn't find traction 30 years ago why would they now?

I liked the old show but considering the PC nature of TV these day's I douubt it would happen. The execs think gutter humor is better than the scary stuff.

I have to agree completely with this. 25yrs ago when it was 1st run, I thought it was amazing. Then a few months ago I rewatched some of the shows and, wow...ummm....yeah...not so "amazing" anymore. I'm pretty lenient with regards to old school shows, but seeing it again was a weird experience.

The basic concept might work, but it'd need so many tweaks and rewrites from what it was to make it more endearing and memorable for today's audience.

And a big YES for a new Robotix series.

    :thumbs2:

Yeah Id bite. Worse case scenario - it sucks and I dont bother watching more than a couple of episodes. The original was so freaky that I dont think they could get away with half of it now (its very surprising that they did back in the 80s). Manglers death and that weird monster tearing it siblings apart and then swallowing a guy whole and waiting to digest him was brutal.

It would benetfit alot from some redesigns though, most of them looked kind of dumb.

I say yes. As long as the show is not made even more gritty.

I could see comics, toys, and at least a direct to DVD show.
