Don't you just lose it when you are promised a good show one fall, it comes on, you watch it and love it, then week 5, it vanishes from the earth?

Are there any shows in particular that you truly wish they hadn't cancelled or let some other network save it- kinda how Law and Order:CI got saved on USA or something?

    i have a couple...
    Good vs Evil
Milennium (wanted it to actually make it to the milennium just so Frank Black could say, "well, that's a big letdown....)
    John Doe
Saved by the bell the Post Graduate Years (kidding)
Touching Evil- when i finally got the feel of the show....poof!

    what are yours?

    Dead like me.

no contest, that programme was unfairly pulled. And then there's also

    Futurama,
    Firefly,
    Brasseye,

I'll add Red Dwarf to that list seeing how the BBC have said no to a nineth series even though the fans wantmore and the DVDs have been some of their best selling, even better selling than the office.)

To be honest, Red Dwarf wasn't so good after Series VI. As much as I love the series it's probably best left alone now; all the actors are getting a bit old for it now.

Firefly, Arrested Development (it had a few seasons, at least), Jack of All Trades, and I'm going to go ahead and put "Reaper" out there because while it's still going, I have a feeling it's going to get the axe, which will be sad.

Bionic Woman (yes, I enjoyed it a lot)
    Blade

Flamepanther: Babylon 5 was only ever concieved as a 5 year series.

    <----

    And Futurama

Did B5 get canceled? I thought it was supposed to end at season 5. The followup shows didn't make it, but I thought the original was a 5-year plan.

EPIC FAIL to this thread for no one mentioning Freaks and Geeks (and to a slightly lesser extent, its spiritual successor Undeclared) yet. Thanks to Judd Apatow's involvement, if either were on the air today they'd be a huge hit. But nobody knew what to do with his style of comedy and storytelling in 1999, so they disappeared well before they should have.

It was initially canceled, and then picked back up by TNT for the final season. The end of season four had been rewritten to be a better ending point in case season five never happened. Certain events and character departures were a result of this. Had the show never been canceled in the first place, the story could have flowed more smoothly as Straczynski intended it.

    Firefly
    Journeyman

I was not feeling Journeyman really in the beginning, but my roommate kept watching it, so I did too. It turned into a slow burner that was getting really, really good. Then it got shit canned.
