I started off just wanting to repaint his underside, but I really liked the metallica blue, so I ending up going for a Blue Angels-like colorscheme.
Looking for some suggestions on how I should do the unpainted sections of his arms. Any ideas??

reminds me a lot of Seaspray, so I'd go with the same yellow as you have used on other parts of the figure

What to do with those unpainted parts? Drybrushed metal, of course!

You might want to disassemble parts to cover those unpainted bits.

I'd go ahead & continue the shell color on his forearm guard, but then drybrush metal on the interior of the arm - unless you see a flat panel that would benefit from the shell (to keep in line with the movie scheme...).

Definately a silver on the inside of his arms, whether the drybrushed metal look or not. I just think it'd go with the rest of it.
    Great paintjob, btw.

I'd like to see you go more monochromatic with the paint scheme for the robot, using some blue-grays. Place some yellow in subtly as well.

I have to say that this really looks sharp! Be sure to shoot a full gallery of this guy when you finish it, and submit it for our gallery!

Arm painting update. Will also be adding yellow tips to the wings. My biggest gripes with this repaint are all the rubbing issues this guy has. Have ground down a few spots to prevent rubbing durring transformation, but I think once I take pics of him finished in his alt mode, he's going to stay in robot mode.

    Another update!!!
Jet mode paint job is done!! Letting him dry over night then going to clear coat him. Will post pics of him in robot mode once I transform him and do the touch-ups.

Sweet! Really like the metallic blue!
I've already posted this info somewhere else (can't remember where tho!) but for anyone who wants to repaint breakaway; he soaks up dye beautifully! He's well on the way to becoming one of my favorite molds!

man that looks really nice in jet mode. Not too sure on the silver robot mode parts but I can see the logic behind it.

    Finished!!!!
I the yellow tips were tricky. I tried taping off a section and painting, but the yellow was so thin, it seeped under the tape, so I had to freehand them. I did the arms in a sliver with black wash, rather thanblack with silver drybrushing. Figured this would keep the paint job brighter. Now he's all done with the exception of his clear coat. Should I use the glossy clear coat, or the satin?
