i am still confused! i know the tank is brawl but it was called devastator and devs is in rotf. will they give a explanation to the name or will they just ignore brawlastator or just call him constructicon gestalt?

Ehh, time will tell. I dont really think the average movie goer will remember the tiny white text labeling him Dev.
...So what's there to be confused about? And for what it's worth, a spoiler from someone who's seen the film claims that Spoiler Devastator's one and only line in the film is "DEVASTATOR". Which, you know, addresses it.
Here's what goes through the average movie-goer's mind in terms of characters: Megatron= Megatron Starscream= jetchicken Blackout= copterman Brawl= tank Bonecrusher= bustackler Frenzy= crazylittlebastard Barricade= cop That's probably how someone with no knowledge of TFs will label them. Devastator's appearance will probably be memorable enough to warrant remembering his name, as will Starscream's.
good point. my friend who isnt a diehard fan was askin me which transformer was which and he used almost all of those descriptions. needless to say i named all the bots and name of vehicle
I know people who refer to Brawl as "the big tank dude." So, no I don't think it would matter for the most part.

I think the only genuine confusing item in the movie will be Blackout. Surely people remembered him dying, he was the second-last Con to die. To have him just show up, even it is not him, in a similar color scheme is definitely confusing. I mean, when ShoWest showed up, us fans were all like "Hey look! It's Blackout!" And it's not really him.
