Modern appliances?! They do know the whole theme was to not discard the old stuff as worthless, right?

Oh god no. I loved this as a kid, I'm not gonna ruin it's memory by seeing a remake.

"I need a new Iphone, the 5G just came out and my 4G makes me look like a total loser."

I'm not looking forward to this.

I think it's a neat idea, even if it is totally random. You people refer to old computers as "toasters," right?

See that sounds like an SNL parody more than an actual remake.
Kid starts with a 3, gets a 4. And then at the very end, ends up getting a 5. Cue 'here we go again' mentality from other devices in the house.

    Well, Cyber-Scream's at least

Imagine them all taking bets on how much he'd get if he sold the older devices :lol
    "3gs, what? 5 bucks?"

That's no computer son, that actually is a toaster.

i can live with a cgi remake, if it is done by pixar.

that WAS how John Lasseter originally wanted it to be anyways.

Being CGI or a remake isn't the problem for me. It's the paradoxical retelling the tale of old appliances getting a new lease on life but "casting" the latest and greatest gadgets as the stars.
...assuming of course that the iPhone is supposed to be one of the heroes and not, say, one of the "cutting edge" guys who actually *do* need to be updated.

That movie was one of the biggest parts of my childhood.

Don't fuck this up, who ever is making it.

This is my sentiment as well, though I suspect for vastly different reasons. Let us never speak of the subject again.
