What was the final consensus? Is he an homage to Kup, or not? I've not quite decided, myself.

I still wish we could get a larger (deluxe) Kup update/homage, so that he can hang out with Classics Rodimus and say stuff like "I knew you had potential, lad!"

Speaking of which, I wouldn't be surprised if Kup is on Hasbro's Classics "short list".

I guess that's about as cut-and-dried as it gets. Sweet.

    Thanks, Nevermore!

Same here. The only thing Brakedown has in common with Kup is the fact that their both old-timers.

Oh, and have whiny sidekicks :D

    Have fun, all!!!

Well besides the color scheme, the idential shin detalings and the characterization, I don't see much in common either:p

I understand what you're sayin'. But hell, Optimus Prime and Superman have the same basic colors; it doesn't mean they look alike.

    My logic is mighty :hookday

    SPOOOOOOON!!!

Well, until you come up with a counter-point, that is :D

    Have fun!!!

If you look at the WW Kup designs in the WW comics he does have a strong resemblance. It's not perfect, but it's there.

They should have re-colored him red and blue and called him Gears IMO.

He would've went well with the following Basics:

    Clocker re-painted as G1 Windcharger
    Overhaul re-painted as G1 Brawn
    Armorhide re-painted as G1 Huffer
Hard Top re-painted as G1 Beachcomber
    Scattershot re-painted as G1 Warpath
    Shortround re-painted as G1 Seaspray
    Ransack re-painted as G1 Wheelie

Who knows... maybe if the Classics line does well; Hasbro will get lazy and just re-package those figures with different colour schemes as homage to G1 minibots.

I think that minibot homages would be cool.
How about a spychanger or mini con for for wheelie.
Then primus could slip on him and break his allspark!

    :lolol
