    well, that's interesting. particularly because, afaik my brain's all intact, and I pretty much view things the same way.

    Howard Stern was discussing a "gay Sophie's choice" the other day on the show...but that would totally derail this thread. I'll keep my mouth shut.

    On topic, I read the article this morning. Interesting stuff.

    Also, it's so easy to sit here and think, "yeah, I could off my baby if it would save the rest of my family." But thinking it and living it are worlds apart.

    That's really interesting. I'd probably be capable of making the same decision, but I know I'd be traumatized by the experience.

    In the first example, the choice is obvious...kill the doctor.

    In the second...I dunno. It's one thing to say "Stifle the infant, save your family", but I don't believe I actually could. I'd much rather...maybe...draw the soldier's fire myself while the rest of the family escaped.

    Man. I hated "Sophie's Choice", too.
