God, still can't get over how BAD the G1 colors go with the movie mold for Starscream.

Kinda wished they'd have gone with a different name too (like...I dunno, G1 Starscream)

 

Even with the drawing of G1 Starscream's head, I can't figure out what they were going for with the upper lip area of the head. It looks like a glowing upper lip, it certainly isn't all open mouth from his lower jaw to his nose.

Very bizarre.

One version of this mold is more than enough for me. Not getting these two is $40.00 closer to getting U.S. Masterpiece Starscream.

 

Oh wow, total spoilers on the backside of Screamer's box as well.

If you are avoiding them (thankfully I wasn't) I'd not read it if I was you.

 

The feature blurbs are odd on Starscream - I never thought I'd see 'deco' be used on he back of the box, and 'missile launchers attach to arms'?

Missile launchers are the arms, copywriter dude.

 

yeah I noticed that too, I read a couple words and then turned away *whew*


I will get the Thundercracker but will probably skip the G1 colored one. I wish they would've kept the movie Starscream head, and they didn't need to be soo bright with the white color. It could've been dulled down some to a grayish color or something.

Oh well it's all good, a week till the movie comes out!!

Good news I suppose, since that'd suck for anyone not wanting to be spoiled.

 

The new head doesn´t look good on him.

 

Wow. I think I may be the only one who actually LIKES this Starscream over his Waspinator-headed version. Can't wait to get him.  

 

Is that a gray Ironhide on the back of the G1 SS?

 

The robot head illo on the front of the box looks like the worlds creepiest bunny.  

 

looks to be regular ironhide. he's not red and he doesn't have a prefix (the others have Final Battle, Rescue and Night Attack as prefixes to their names on their repaints).

 

Starscream doesn't

 

I don't think the G1 colors are so bad on starscream, as much as they are poorly laid out. They don't follow the natural lines of the new jet. The stripes on Thundercracker are thinner and much more tastefully done IMO.

Starscream could have been a good chance to experiment with a slightly darker grey, less red, more blue, etc. Takara MP colors might not've looked bad on this mold.

All that said I can't stand the mold so these are an easy pass for me.Hasbro MP FTW.

 

Thundercracker I'm definately thinking about getting - if he comes out here so much the better.

Starscream I'm undecided on. He'd be the third time I got that mold if I did pick him up, and I'm not sure if I want to get three of him. Will see once I actually get one of him!

 

The white on Thundercracker's legs look... odd..
Screamer looks great though! Will pick him up for sure.

 

I'll probably get THUNDERCRACKER as two jets at the same size will look cool on the shelf, but I hate that head. It looks even more comical on the box art....
