    I can't wait to see what Botcon has planned!

    I too would like to see an E-Hobby set, or a Wreckers set! :D

    I had a thought a while back and i know it rather unlikely , but imagine the insanity that would ensure if next years Botcon set was a reissue of Fort max, unlike;ly for 2 reason , Cost to produce and I have no clue if being sold as a collectors item would get it around the toy safety laws and the infamous drop test.

    Out of the options they listed on their questionnaire I figure a second Shattered Glass set makes the most sense, the other popular options were the Animated Protectobots themed set and Beast Wars animated, but I don't think they would use the animated aesthetic two years in a row.

    If they do an Animated 2-pack, they could do Sky-Byte and Earth mode Ironhide.

    Animated Beast Wars I'd say is NOT happening. What molds would they use? The only 2 animal molds were Waspinator & Black Arachnia. Maybe Soundwave's instruments. Botcon isn't making new molds. So unless they use BW molds, which defeats the purpose, there isn't enough for a set.

    I believe one of the ideas on the Survey was Beast Wars using Universe Molds. In either case, I'd like something fairly fresh. SG, Transtech, or something new.

    There's also the Dinobots and they could be used for Rhinox, Terrorsaur and Megatron/Dinobot.

    Yeah, remembered the Dinos after I had posted.

    I guess for Animated they could go for the 'obvious repaints' Cliffjumper out of BB, Thundercracker, Wasp as a green BB, Earth Ironhide from Ratchet. Smokescreen out of Jazz

    it so could be done...there is the wasp and blackarchnia molds...plus grimlock could become beast wars megs with a new head...swoop can be redone as terrorsaur or hydra...snarl could be redone as a new rhinox if they dd the coloring right...

    they would not be able to cover alot of the figures...but you can always do what they did in 2006 and use different animated molds to give them cybertron animated vehicle modes...doing that ...you could make anyone anything...megs the dump truck with the gun of death or something like that....

    A significant difference between the two markets might also exist with regard to what Hasbro are willing to approve.

    They made a miscalulation on past offerings causing a backlash and an eventual retail version.
    Whilst a large range of characters have been discussed WRT retail releases, what's 'available'
    for a box set may be much more limted...in turn qualifying demand somewhat.

    Some of what's been suggsted in the past may not be as sensitive an issue as Thundercracker...but still
    represents characters to which some are very much attached.

    Assuming they're willing to do another Classics-themed box set at all.

    They could go off the IDW infestation comics. That was an interesting story!

    You know, I'm not sure I'd turn down Classics Protectobots. You'd have to reuse Inferno for Hot Spot, but the Animated version would include yet another Optimus anyway. Or, use the crane version for Hot Spot and call it a ladder, maybe even with retooling.

    Grapple -> Hot Spot
    Wreck-Gar -> Groove
    Prowl -> Streetwise (yes, again, tiresome, but in proper Protectobot colors this time. Or, drop him out and replace him somehow)
    Tomahawk -> Blades
    Ratchet -> First Aid (who'd turn down a re-release of this high-demand mold?)

    I think this might be a lucrative thing to do for fans because there have been so many releases of the Combaticons lately. Official and non-official. The Combaticons are vastly more popular, but it's certainly cool to think about pitting them against their opposite numbers. And how's this for an attendee set: Hound into Swindle, and RtS Optimus as the Combaticons' "new ally," Scourge!

    Lots of people suggest redecoing RTS Perceptor into Magnificus. But I wonder if FunPub would be more likely to redeco him into their own character, Magnum. They look pretty similar:

    Completely ignoring the rough "no mold reuse" rule:

    BOXED SET:

    Nightracer from Universe Sideswipe
    Roulette from Classics Rodimus
    Glyph from Classics Bumblebee
    Apelinq from Generations Kup
    Sandstorm from RTS Lugnut

    FREEBIE:
    Tap-Out from Classics Bumblebee

    SET #1:
    Shockoract from Cybertron Menasor
    Antagony from Universe Cyclonus

    SET #2:
    Onyx Primal from ROTF Mindwipe
    Fractyl from ROTF Skystalker

    These are just some quick ideas using modern molds and past Botcon characters..
