I didn't see this update from Brian anywhere.

Brian posted this on the club forum but I figure its relevant to everyone.

Good to know. As this is my first Botcon, I'm glad I don't have to put up with that fax BS. I was dreading that!

Hey Pete, since it's taking a bit, howzabout another exclusive sneak peek to tide us over? :p

My thoughts exactly. When the date and location were announced I found flights for only £370. Today the cheapest (at least for my travel dates) is £480.

I paid £430 a few months back and for a long time after that there were no flights under £500.

Maybe he's right and there wil lbe sales closer to the dates for international travellers as well.

But realistically to Florida in June. No.

...How does lack of registration prevent people from booking flights? Is it just those that want to see if they're going to make it into the customizing classes?

As I am having my honeymoon in October, I have already purchased airfare. Jet Blue was the cheapest, but Southwest is booking as well!

Thats seems to have been the main reason I've heard. I suppose theres also the group that only care about the toys and the brochure usually reveals the characters in the boxset which maybe enough for them to gauge if the toys are worth the expense.

Oh and the tours (or tour this time) as well as the classes I expect.

Looking forward to the Brochure. I'm glad to know that the tour isn't something we'd be interested in. That and now we know we have Thursday to spend at the parks with some friends. Can't wait til June!

Don't feel too bad - flying from Wash DC area to Orlando - most airlines (if they had any listings) have only gone UP. For a prime spot like that (weekend b4 4th July, right after all schools have closed for the summer) - yeah - waiting is NO GOOD. Even waiting the 3 wks I did between research & purchase - 4 flights in my desired timeframe coming back sold out, and a couple of outbound.

But glad to see some kind of "update" - though keeping the Botcon.com site updated is better than just the TFCC. Just b/c I have a membership doesn't mean I check it amidst my many other sites.

This is exactly the kind of info I have been wanting. Been trying to figure out what theme parks to try to hit and when.

Would the dealer room open on Thursday or does that start Friday?

Try Jet Blue. For our honeymoon in October, we got round trip for both, non stop flights for $400 TOTAL. Southwest was the nearest price with 1 stop for almost $200 more

Dunno if anyone on the club forum caught this, but that slogan actually comes from Paul Masson. But you don't have to believe me, just listen to Unicron:

I hope folks will attend the KSC tour, it's terrific... and a far better depiction of what Florida is all about than the theme parks.

Ooh, and Gatorland. You've got to go to Gatorland. :)

ehh, I dunno about this "complicated code" excuse, because frankly it isn't. Between the tools Paypal & CC companies provide to access their systems and all the free software packages (CMSs, etc) they could install and essentially have this working out of the box, I'm not seeing anything that warrants 4 months. Sounds like someone is just dragging their feet.
