all I want to hear is that the convention exclusives will not be classics thundercracker, dirge, or thrust. that'd be the biggest slap in the face of fans that I could imagine.
The aforementioned info on the tour and the class is now up on www.botcon.com Edit: Well, the links are anyway....
Tour info is up now. Interesting choices? http://www.botcon.com/contours07.cfm Wednesday June 27, 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Woods Hole & Whale Watching, Cape Cod, MA Thursday, September 28, 8:45 am - 4:15 pm Fabulous Newport! Custom class links not working yet.
Definitely really nice tours. If I had the money I would definitely go on the whale watcher one. Always wanted to do that.
... I guess. The WHOI one, anyway. Not sure if it's $80-plus-an-extra-night's-hotel-stay interesting. The Newport one sounds way too Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous for my taste. Rather surprised there's no Hasbro tour....
Where is all the info on where it is and what will be going on each day? My mother said I can go and she will give me money if I show her info on it. So like when should that info be up?
Probably next week. This is the first bit of info, but they stated in the email that they had more to do on the schedule and registration information.
It's quite possible there still will be a Hasbro tour. Maybe that event will be part of the as-yet-unannounced main weekend activities.
Well, a Hasbro office tour strikes me as something that'd be very haphazard to set up right. Not surprised it isn't up there. As for the other two, I haaaate guided tours, but all the power to those going on 'em. *edit* Oh dear, just in case anyone missed it: It seems that if you pay the $80-$160 for tours, you get first dibs on souvinir figures. Not my bag (I doubt it'll cost me the ability to get ahold of the set by skipping tours), but there ya go.
I can't imagine Hasbro having tours of their offices on the weekend. Especially for 2 reasons: 1) Pawtucket is outside of Providence, so it would be about a 10 minute drive (minimum) to get their. 2) To get a tour of the offices, you would need to have established guidelines, groups, times, etc. Could you imagine trying to accomodate everyone who wanted a tour on the weekend?
I see it as twofold: -The remaining Decepti-jets being Botcon exclusives would mean an absolute deathknell on any possibility of their consumer release (though I also have doubts that more than 2 of those 3 would get released, myself) -It'd mean 3 deluxe exclusives being completely predictable and thus a little uninteresting to some
And if you think *that* sounds complicated, wait til we see them try and schedule screening(s) of the movie! Seriously, I didn't say a weekend Hasbro tour was likely. Just that it was possible. I wouldn't totally rule it out yet.
